dwayne
so, i made a thread a while back about clunking noises coming from under the car and assumed it was a worn gearbox mount as i knew my selector seal was leaking and destroyed the rubber part of it but when i changed it and replaced the seal it made no difference at all. Pistonbroke suggested to me that it was the flywheel and he was spot on cos i just changed it and no more clunking! what i noticed about the flywheel i was putting on (bought from Bradley) is that it had around 105mm of twist between the front and rear plate so i was expecting my old flywheel to be a lot more but it was actually the opposite. i could only manage to twist it about 40mm. i'm not sure how the DMF actually works but i would have thought the less play the better (obviously i am wrong). anyways, thanks to Pistonbroke and Bradley for the knoweledge and supply of parts dont suppose anyone knows if the old flywheel can be rebuilt? Chris Wilson
They are made by LUK for Toyota, and are none serviceable. The workshop manual gives the service limit movement between the two halves.
