Homer
With all the recent threads about handling problems (particularly Kosmic's one), I'm going to get a full alignment done at Micheldever Tyres Can anyone give any info as to what the preferred alignment for a day to day road car - stock or the Lance W settings? I found a few old posts where people had tried the Lance W settings, but there was no conclusion as to whether they were better for day to day driving over the stock settings. Does anyone have any experience of the stock vs Lance setup? PS: I have stock 17in wheels and eibach/bilstein's.
Timwildman
Had my ex sup set up to the lance settings, and I didn't notice a diffrence in how the car drove. But the tyre wear was alot more even, not wearing on the inside as with the stock set up. So I'd say it's a good thing. The car was lowered a bit. Congrats on the 1000th post

Homer
Bump I know a few members here went for the Lance W settings some months/years ago (Mcanny, Suprarob, Lovatt, Skyjawa, etc) so would be interested to hear feedback after all this time. Was it an improvement, how was tyre wear, did you go back to stock settings afterwards? I'm still not sure whether to go for the stock or Lance W setup, so need some input to convince me either way
michael
Sorry I missed this one, I went for the Lance setup but the car was a bit out from the Toyota settings when it went in so anything would probably have felt better It did feel more planted afterwards, even tyre wear, nice on track too - I can't comment if it's better than the Toyota setup but it felt great when I got it back. Homer
Thanks guys, that's 3 votes for the Lance settings I'll give them a try and let you know the results (though I'm certain my suspension is set up for 'drifting' right now )
D3xt3r
I run it too... Tracking was out of spec beforehand so cant say if its better then the Toyota settings but I dont have anything bad to say about it.
jot_ie
Sorry I missed this one, I went for the Lance setup but the car was a bit out from the Toyota settings when it went in so anything would probably have felt better It did feel more planted afterwards, even tyre wear, nice on track too - I can't comment if it's better than the Toyota setup but it felt great when I got it back. I had it done as well Cant recommend it for irish roads though. or so it seems. Either the camber or toe is wrong for "rougher" durfaces ... And still getting a lot of wear on the inner edges of the tyres, especially the fronts. Still not confident in the whole suspension geometry setup. That could be making the "lance" appear out of sorts Felt better that the way it was though. I have more work to do. Will let you know when (if) I get it sorted John
