dude
Hopefully chinese whispers, 3 is 3 too many but all the riders know the risk and compete because they love the TT, I feel sorryiest for the partners and parents who are left behind.

Edit: Here you go: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-isle-of-man-13678249 Ahhh that makes sense, 3 racers and 4 wannabee heroes, why o why don't they get a race licence and do it properly, you just cant ride the same on a road that MAY have a car on it as a closed road or track, when I started doing track days on the bike I was shocked at how much faster it is poss to go on a track, makes it almost embarrasing to ride a 1000 on the road. All the same a shame fot those left behind.

merckx
One death that sticks in my mind is from 2005 when April Bolster - TT marshall - went to the aid of another rider who had mechanical problems, she was hit by Guss Scott on his 1000cc Honda, they both died. Her 19-year-old daughter Susan was marshalling at the crash scene and witnessed the entire tragedy. The race wasn't stopped. The coroner hit out at the 'chaos' which followed the accident, which saw an untrained man don a marshal's bib in an attempt to prevent further tragedy and three spectators step onto the course to drag Mr Scott's bike out of the path of oncoming racers. List of fatal accidents on the circuit if anyone is interested. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Snaefell_Mountain_Course_fatal_accidents#List_of_fatal_accidents_involving_spectators
dani_r
3 race deaths so far. The 2 guys on the side car and the gent the other day coming out of Greeba. That race was red flagging immediately. My friend is a paramedic and said it was the grimmest thing he's seen. To be fair, one of the deaths on the open roads was an old boy who had a heart attack just after The Ginger Hall and hit a parked car, with his Mrs on the back! The rest, well! I went for 2 laps in the Supra on Mad Sunday and it wasn't too bad on the mountain. Probably because the road had only been open since 3pm after crashes all day! Too many nutters not knowing the road! Last weekend there was a crash on the mountain, closed it for hours, opened again for 6 minutes before another bike went hurtling into the back of the police landrover that was dealing with the previous crash! They were all told there was still hazards. However, it's not just bikes! My friend up there on his bikes with his GF on the back when a red Evo 8 on UK plates under took him so close that the car hit his gf's leg! Needless to say, he's not very happy! I'm all for tourism and people coming to have a good blast up the mountain, but don't ride/drive like a total knob!
