cje001
As above, its not good in this weather! Before i start taking the dash out, all the heater buttons are working except for the temp control one, it goes no hotter of colder no matter where its turned... Is this a thermostat dial that controls the heater? Can i get a spare one and are they simple to fit? Any help is appreciated as its getting warmer and hot air is not good!!! Chris Wilson
I think the heater will self diagnose and emit fault code flashes.
Lee P
Have a look under the dash on the passenger side, there is a small rod that usually pops out of position. Its located near the trans tunnel side, if you look up you should see it, turn the control from hot to cold and the rod should move and you will see it. If the rod doesnt move then it may be the dial itself, are the lights moving to indicate the dial is working?
spiderpigcity
I have a full heater matrix and box (the whole lot) if you can face replacing it all.
cje001
I have a full heater matrix and box (the whole lot) if you can face replacing it all. Thanks mate, i`ll be checking this all out, no thinking its the matrix as mine went before and it wouldnt give warm air, i`m thinking it has to be the dial or the controls... cje001
Just to finish the thread, check out these links for help on this etc http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?243482-Heater-Problem&highlight=heater+control+rod http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?49871-Heater-Maximum-Output-Temperature-Too-Low/page2 I checked the actuator arm and it wasnt moving when the temp controls were moved, you can hear it as well and there was no noise... So thought i`d strip the dash to assess and make sure all plugs were plugged in... Someone who had fitted either the aftermarket clock or had been messing with the dash hadnt plugged the 1st of the orange connectors back in properly, pushed it in and tested... Bingo Easiest fix ever but very satisfying as i have cold air now! Now i can see if my air con works!
