The Raven
Well there must have been some on my contact lens case, needless to say got it on my finger then transfered it to the lens. Finger in the eye and instant burning, i couldnt get the dam thing out quick enough. Felt like getting shampoo in your eye but way worse, i washed it out as best i could but now i feel my eye is going to burst, and im considering A&E So people with contact lenes bewere! toothpaste will ruin your day! Josh
A&E, seriously? Man up and just get the shower on it
The Raven
I think i have a chemical burnt eye. Washing it isnt going to help anymore. I can only guess it was toothpaste, nothing else in the bathroom could have done it, unless when i was cleaned some bleech or cleaning product wasnt washed away. Havard
Is you contact lense fluid just for rinsing or is it the type that disolves the crap on the lense? I used a mild acid type stuff that if you don't leave it long enough will cause some serious pain. Once you take your lenses out you have to leave them for 6 hours. Not sure what they would do at A&E but eyes do heal well naturally. H.
The Raven
Turns out the Mrs binned my all in one lens cleaner and opened a new one. Its made to just drop the lens in it over night and put it in when ever. I think the new one has a major problem maybe mixed wrong. I have kept it and im taking it back monday for them to test it. This was after 10 seconds or less of having said lens in my eye, taken just now so about an hour and half after the contact. The pain has eased a bit now and it does not seem to burn as much. JustGav
In all seriousness, I'd go to an optician rather than A&E

KamaSupra
Wow that doesn't look too good, I've had toothpaste in my eye and nothing like that happened. Definitely must have been the contact lens solution, I take it you've not put the other contact in as your other eye is fine? Scott M will be here to big up his sore finger again soon

The Raven
Well, it now does not hurt, i have slight bluring in that eye now. A&E will only do so much as has been said. So im booking into the optician monday, when i will get it tested....then work out who to sue
Havard
Looks painful. I would put money on you being given the wrong solution by the opticians. I remember Ste D "borrowing" my contact lense fluid when he stayed over at ours, he put the acidic solution straight into his eye instead of the contact lense case as it has a neutralising disc in it to return it to water after a few hours. Ste has was he calls "normal" fluid for his lenses. How we both laughed all the way to Wigan Infirmary...!! H.
