jonathanc
With the dangerous E Coli outbreak is it safe to travel to the EU, specifically France? Planning a short EuroDisney trip for the family but now wondering if that would be recommended?

jonathanc
Don't eat the veg hehe I wished its just the veg but according to BBC : Causes of past E.coli outbreaks Processed meats: hamburgers, kebabs and salami Cheese, milk, butter, yoghurt, ice cream and other dairy products Salad vegetables such as coleslaw, lettuce, spinach, radishes and alfafa sprouts Fruits including melons, grapes and apple juice Waterborne outbreaks associated with lakes, ponds, paddling and swimming pools which basically is what EuroDisney about
Attero
Just don't eat. If you have to, consider cannabilism.
jonathanc
Btw, the causes I've quoted above applies to UK too... we already quite a few deaths so watch your kebabs
caseys
Just fry everything until it's crunchy and you'll be fine. Or survive on Guiness (if that's possible)

Charlotte
hehe I wished its just the veg but according to BBC : You've quoted causes of past e-coli outbreaks. At the moment the outbreak appears to have been linked to raw vegetables in Germany. There have been cases in other parts of Europe, as it stands I don't believe there have been any cases in France. The most important thing with this is cleanliness - washing vegetables, fruit, hand hygiene etc etc.

Which is where the hand hygiene thing comes in - it's so important in killing germs. It's not an airborne outbreak.

No. It's not only hand hygiene here. Any biological contact. A sneeze, cough, saliva etc. If you come in contact with a person infected with E. Coli you are going to catch it. Scott
No. It's not only hand hygiene here. Any biological contact. A sneeze, cough, saliva etc. If you come in contact with a person infected with E. Coli you are going to catch it. You must like some close contact if that's the way you see it. Stay away from people who are sneezing and coughing, try not to let anyone spit on you... wash regularly and you will be absolutely fine. Either that or lock yourself in a room, I'll let you know when it's safe to come out. Remember your tinfoil hat

Coli you are going to catch it. E. coli from person-to-person contact The bacteria can also spread from one person to another, usually when an infected person does not wash his or her hands well after a bowel movement. E. coli can spread from an infected person's hands to other people or to objects. You can't catch it in droplets from sneezes or coughs, saliva etc - not sure where you're getting your info from. E-coli is a gut infection so unless you're going to Euro Disney to eat people's faeces and you're not going to take care with personal hygiene, then I suspect you might just be ok. This is not limited to eating faeces Indeed - I was being dramatic, I'm just saying it all stems back to hygiene, if they've washed their hands, then if they touch you you'll be fine. But honestly, if you're like this now and you're not even there I'd suggest you don't go. You'll be paranoid as hell even stepping into the hotel room. Charlotte
Of course the media will do their best to hype as much as possible - especially the BBC website which used to be quite unbiased. It is pretty serious though, I don't think I'd be particularly comfortable being in Germany at the moment.

Dnk
The big issue here is people not washing their hands, i was at a country pub last night and out of 7 guys who used the toilets while i was in there i was the only one that did, one guy had even been for a number 2 and didnt wash his hands ! How disgusting and to think they then shake hands with others, buy their food and drinks, makes me cringe. Are the women as bad or is this just a men thing ? I think women are more hygenic (hopefully...) I always wash my hands after going to the toilet as I have an OCD against bacterias and stuff lol. I even make sure the toilet paper is adequate to cover all of my hand while wiping so I don't get accidently smudged.
