Who got "DESTROYED" by the RS turbo then?

i totally agree ive been in a 250 hp 2 ltr rst and that was quite quick would suprise a stock or bpu supra for sure, pound for pound a supra can be taken way beyond any rs ford has to offer hence why i have one, but in the lesser tuned category it can be done to an rs and be quite quick the trouble is some people on here think supras are just the ultimate car end of, it seems a common issue some slightly tuned car owners have blinkers on ! lol

The Red RST in my picture was a 250BHP Castle Performance built model, its surprising how quick they can actually be if done right, mine held 24PSI and surprised a lot more exotic cars, it went through clutches and diff bearings for fun though! :) The 200BHP RST i own now is pretty quick as well. My red one would obliterate the likes of Imprezas on the move, would rev off the clock on low boost as well, recon it would have been good for 160 ish. :)

Rst's are great little cars, my mate has a mint s1, he has spent £30k plus over the years, biggest trouble he has is gear boxes, just paid £1300 for a built box, failed within a month, so went back and he hasnt refitted it yet. on power terms his was dyno'd at 224hp, and is a great tool, on power terms im not sure that one would keep up with a tt sup. It was about the same as my itr upto around 110 leptons and then the teggy would pull away.

This is the vid i always remember

Blimey, didn't know the RST's were that quick! I would have thought a BPU would have left it for dust.

They're not... some people in dreamland :) A BPU Supra would destroy your run of the mill tuned RST, maybe with the exception of some of the ones that have had silly amounts of money dumped into them but that's not really a fair comparison is it. You can dump tonnes of money into any car to make it quicker and say it will destroy (insert quicker more expensive car here) , but most run of the mill RST's on the road aren't quick by modern standards... torque steer, lack of traction in 1st and 2nd and crap handling... I have fond memories but they're not great cars.

Cossies on the other hand are still great I think... great engine and a lot of fun, getting very hard to find one that's not been molested to the nth degree now though.

I used to have a 1.8ZVH Fiesta RST not far off 300hp, it certainly wouldn't keep up with a 500hp Supra like some will claim. It was a quick car on the road in the late 90's when I had it, but nothing by today's standards.

I don't have an account :(

Could you post it here? :)

Yep, no problem

Default I destroyed a coffee, NOW WITH PICS

I woke up this moring feeling a bit groggy but thats no excuse.

I went about my morning routine as normal boiling the kettle , putting the coffee in the mug, then BAM the milk went in , by this stage i know i could take it it down ! , i sat took a seat at my kitchen table, looked around , looked my girlfriend in the eye and went for it !

I could not beleive it , the milk was so cold it made the coffee a nice drinkable temperature

For all you non beleivers no it was not de-caff !!!

BAM i smashed the cup back on the table knowing i'd done it .

I wish someone could of recoreded it for proof.

Trust me people it can me done when u know what you are doing and u can handle a cup or even a mug of coffee

I was thinking as much, main problem being traction & torque steer! Also on track the RWD's can come on power a lot quicker coming out of a car. I currently have an EP3 Type R which has 200bhp, compared to my fairly stock TT this seems VERY slow! I admit it has hardly any torque but it would only have the upper hand to 30mph due to how light it is.

im still a member on passionford tbh its a great forum although not as helful as this one, i had a s2 rst cabriolet ( same it was a quick car keep up with the modern stuff, was only about 200bhp theres no way a rst would touch a std supra! nevermind a 450bhp one, the guy is off his head or was probobly a n/a or as suggested the g6 supra

So wait a minute here, the Ford that destroyed this supra. Its a wonder that it was actually working properly in the first place!!

Its a bit like that on the Seat owners club as well, always see quotes like:

"its remapped now with a filter, it will pretty much destroy anything on the road, its a seriously fast car"

Its a 280hp seat leon its brisk yes. A car like JamieP's qualifies as seriously fast.
