jay5041
Hi people just been driving down the road and all warning lights flashed up. Pulled over popped bonnet engine felt really hot but the temp gauge stayed in the middle? Anyone got any ideas please???? Would it possibly be something to do with this hot weather? merckx
The engine will feel very hot on a day like today. The main warning triangle lights up when the ECU detects a fault, are there any other warning lights coming on at the same time? The most common reason for the warning light to come on is low brake fluid, the sensor is very sensitive, even if it is just below the full mark it can come on. Try topping it up and see if that cures it. I would do an ecu reset, remove EFI fuse number 1 for 30s or more.
jay5041
The main warning triangle is on aswell as 4 lights on the centre console. Also a light on the right side that looks like an oil can with a wavy line underneath is on? Bad news?
CanisLupus
Could be the Regulator of the alternator. Check if it's charging the battery when running(Voltage should be over 13.5Volts).
Stephendjb
Alternator fault is most likely with lots of dash warning lights on. Oil can with wavy line is your oil level warning light.

VIL
Mine used to flash up (with the oil light) when it was low on oil, normally when going down or up a hill.
jay5041
This ones permanently on though with the other lights. So hopefully it is just the alternator and nothing more serious
Chris Wilson
If you want to get it towed over to me I can sort it for you, sounds like an alternator or grounding fault.

marc_p
This problem just came about for me. What did you do to fix this 2 My guess is that it was just a new alternator.
