Granted used ones seem to go for around £200-£300 but this is really an inbetween due to it being new but not new from a shop.

mines not jailbroken and its brand new :)

my iphone4 was 6 months old, and sold it for £300 the other day. Who's going to buy an older model for nearly double the cash, where you could probably get a iphone4 for about the same price, or 2nd hand iphone for half that??? Mmmmmm

The price is wrong IMO

But GLWS

The item is 2nd hand however it is not used (its packed, no fingerprints, brand new) - so there is a difference to your used phone.

Secondly and more importantly, a jailbroken iphone is a hack to unlock it to other networks (this has to be done everytime apple upgrade the IOS). this is not jailbroken device it is an OFFICIAL iphone that is NOT LOCKED to any particular network. you do not need to hack it in order to connect it to whatever network you want

If people want jailbroken iphones then there is a price for that, if they don't then its a different price. Simples :)

Hope that helps any potential buyer. I have researched the market and priced it to be very attractive to people who know what they are looking at.

Having said all that, you are entitled to your opinion :)

Anyone can get the iPhone officially unlocked for £10. You don't HAVE to jailbreak it, althought unlocking does take a few weeks.

Personally think you'll struggle to sell at anything over £300 for the 3GS but good on you if you do.

Elaborate on what? Official unlock via O2 used to take 21 days or less (depended what their queue was like)...

I believe now it costs nothing to do (if you're out of contract) and takes a few days.

Right, a 12-18mth or longer used out of contract phone, so not really the same thing, thanks anyway.

Purely commenting on the unlocking side of things, not questioning the for sale thread at all.

I got a iphone unlocked afew weeks ago. I had to put 10 or 15 pound, cant remember which, credit on the phones PAYG sim.

Called o2 and they took the credit and (payment for unlocking) and it was done in a matter of minutes.

Jailbreaking is different to unlocking the phone. IIRC jailbreaking gives you access to a mirrored app store that lets you download all apps cracked and FOC.
