Well basicaly my lap top got riddled with virous's, i didnt get any sort of disk with it when i bought it.

I want to restore it back to default, is there a way of doing this or do i have to go out and buy vista on disk to do so. You can make restore disks, but i can only seem to restore it back to 01/01/2011 which isnt far enough back for me. I want to clear the lot but i dont want to reformat anything without the correct disks to reboot from.

Any help would be great.

Your laptop will most likely have a recovery partition. You may be able to access this by pressing a hotkey during bootup, it should tell you during boot up if this is the case. If not you will need a recovery floppy/cd which would have either came from the laptop manufacturer/supplier or you will have to contact them for it.

However, I would recommend ditching vista altogether and going with Windows 7.
