add heywood
The brakes on the Supra are really bad at the min, the car is undrivable at the moment. When you drive if you place minimal pressure through the pedal they work, but when you start to press harder there is no more braking power to the car... I have tried the servo trick (pump brakes while car is off, keep pressure on pedal and start car, pedal drops to around halfway). Pedal does not drop to the floor, and pumping the brakes does not improve braking performance. Also car does not pull to either side when braking. The car has been stood pretty much since last September, an has only done about 3000 miles in the 3 years Ive had it. The brake fluid level is still to max. Any ideas? add heywood
have you tried new fluid ? Was going to book it in to get it done, but the brakes dont feel spongy at all. Siezed pistons. I was thinking the same, both fronts maybe sized and brake only working at the back...
Jurgen-Jm-Imports
was just thinking if they have been braked hard over time and boiled over a little.. certainly worth changing every few years or so, if it was spongy it might have had air in system. but maybe check the pistons and try new fluid. Swampy442
Maybe the master cylinder is biffed?

Yeah I bled them, only a tiny bit of air... Ill take the discs off and check caliper piston for movement tomorrow Maybe the master cylinder is biffed? I was hoping people wouldnt say anything that sounded expensive lol
Homer
Which brakes do you have? Are they new or old? I was hoping people wouldnt say anything that sounded expensive lol Compared to other possible problems, it's not expensive. There are refurb kits for these. Swampy442
Actually, saying master cylinder, maybe not, if it was leaking past the seals the pedal would, more than likely, go to the floor. What brakes are they, J spec?
add heywood
They are UK specs, on the car when I imported it 2008... Were fine before it came off the road last year... Car has done 64k
Chris Wilson
From the test results you've posted I would say the best guess is that the caliper pistons are seized. It could be a weird master cylinder problem, but very unlikely that both front and rear circuits are affected together. Funnily enough I have 2 sets of stainless steel pistons left for sale, for UK calipers, to stop things like this occurring
