I dont see a problem, if he is taking chances then surely it makes the racing more entertaining rather than worrying about his hair do and sitting back, he should be praised rather held back, its similar to when Schu got stick for a so called close overtake, jeeez wind back the clock and watch how close the racing use to be :D

Not sure how his comments puts F1 in disrepute either, the world has gone stupid where you cant say anything these days, I dont see anything in that article as offensive, nothing compared to the head of F1 living out Nazi fantasies with hookers :search:

i think monaco should be dropped

its the most boring race of the whole season and theres hardly any overtaking

its like watching a scalextric race

i think they only race monaco now because its a historic circuit of F1

if they had any sense for the racing aspect, they would ditch it

What a great race, shame the crash at the end put an end to what could have been an epic finish

Having watched LH's interview i dont think hes done himself any favours and should have just took it on

the chin and get on with the next one, both his penalties were doing dubeous manouvers

but then any Monaco overtake is going to be iffy due to the nature of the circuit.

he takes risks , because he wants to win, thats racing and would be boring without it look at some of the moves senna try'd to pull off lol and he is one of the greatest drivers to ever live hamilton is ballsy and has passion and wants to win hence maybe a bit of a sulk and moan but deffinateley understandable

To me it just shows he is human, he obviously will not just sit back and take his pay packet, he wants to race and is frustrated that he feels a decision against him is wrong. the Ali G quip is pretty priceless, at least he has a sense of humor.

He's playing with fire here.

Firstly, he screwed up in Q3, then his team screwed up in the race leading to huge frustration for him.

Secondly, he pulled a great move on MS, but then he got impatient and made two wreckless moves. The one on Massa was amateur hour.

Finally, he has to be applauded (and McLaren) for speaking his mind, that's what we want (and fair play to McLaren for not gagging the drivers). But, he cannot use a race-card like the way he did today. That's just calling the Stewards, FIA, etc, racist. It should not be tolerated - in any fashion. Also, calling the other drivers clowns "Fricken clowns" is extremely arrogant and disrespectful and detracts from the enourmous talent he has. McLaren need to have a word.

I'd have to agree with Lewis. I actually wished drivers spoke what was on their mind (like Lewis did today, bar his black comment) instead of being pussyfooted by their PR manager.

Would make interviews more interesting instead of the usual "my team did great, the race was great" or "it was unfortunate the race didn't come together, I had a slight altercation with another car but he said sorry, I said sorry and we both apologized to the stewards for making contact."

I really enjoyed the race today. This season has been pretty good so far. This is the first season I have watched properly since the boring Schumacher domination days when there was no point watching as you knew he was always going to win.

There seems to be a lot more tactics and action.

It was arrogant for him to call the stewarding process a joke, but as Dude says it's just showing he is human and his frustration was coming through. His "black" comment was clearly just a joke, if you see the video you'll see he was just making light of things. I thought it was a funny remark :)

I really enjoyed the race today, one of the best Monaco GP's in recent years, they're normally a bore due to lack of action.

But that the comment can be portrayed several ways, Darryl. Soundbites are one thing. Printed dialogue, out of context, is a whole new other topic.

Oh I do agree it looks bad in written format, but that's not how it was intended nor how it appears on video. This whole politcal correctness thing is stupid, it's good to see F1 drivers have sense of humour and are open about their opinions. MSC, Kimi, Alonso etc, while great drivers were utter bores in interview. I like the latest generation of drivers who speak their mind.

F1 is far too strong on the racers, let them race what they want and how they want, within reason, that way it would be a much more exciting experience for is. On the Lewis subject there is not many other drivers like him!!! And if there weren't people like him I wouldn't watch the sport!

Anyway, his reaction to what I believed where silly incidents on the track was immature and not thought out. His frustration comes out with him playing the race card, there was a slight pause before he added the Ali G comment as he realised he had made an error.

The moves he made today weren't going to work, he just pointed the car and aimed it at whatever gap possible regardless of the outcome.

Yes I do think he has talent but the after race comments about the other drivers and the stupid comment regarding his colour isn't going to put him in favour with many of the other drivers and race officials, he's got something and needs to keep his frustrations under control or he'll lose alot of fans and support.

From the initial looks it appeared that Hamilton was at fault but I found one important argument missing reg Massa and Hamilton’s collision at the hairpin!! TYRES!!

When Shumi went pass Hamilton in the hairpin, Shumi was on super soft rubber and has more front end grip compared to Hamilton who is on Harder tyre. If you watched the race you will see that who ever is on the harder tyre took a wider line at the hairpin. Hamilton did not collide into Shumi but allowed him to pass.

Now looking at Massa’s incident these roles were reversed. As Massa just came out of the pits with harder rubber (a lap before the incident, he was taking the wider line at the hairpin. So Hamilton OPTMISTICALLY took the inside line as he is on softer rubber, hoping Massa cannot possibly turn in. But Massa did intentionally turn into Hamilton. This could have been avoided! Also if Massa gave a little bit more room to Hamilton it would not have mattered much as Massa will have the inside line for the next turn after the hairpin!

Check the incident again … here - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/formula_one/13589541.stm

Massa at the hairpin did not follow Webber but pulled to the left of Webber. Why did he do that? Is he trying to pass Webber on the inside … NO. All he tried is to intentionally turn into the left of Webber effectively shutting the door on Hamilton but it was too late!

New to F1/Racing, are we?

lol,

Paul i agree with most of your comments there, he needs to control himself a little more, on any other track on the calender he would have taken the guys that he failed to take today, As for the comments, its probably along the lines of what others would like to say, just shows he has a personality and wants to win.
