SteveL
Having seen the mixed response on these babies - thought I'd add this.... Had one of these fitted yesterday and love every second of it... It's tight, short and quick - just can't wait to track it... Never realised gear changes could be so sexy. And a thanks to Paul Whiffin for suggesting and installing ( and convincing me to give it a try )
imi
Quick question for you then. Does the short shifter make the gear changes knotchy?
SteveL
Imi - it does, but it's not so much so that it's difficult. I reckon it makes it nicer because its a positive shift, not sloppy like before. Tried it yesterday with some faster more spirited driving and it's excellent. I used to miss changes , especially 2nd to 3rd - but thats alot easier now. Make sure its adjusted properly and you should be fine.
imi
aha, adjusted....didnt know one could do that, perhaps thats what I need to do to mine thx
SteveL
Imi - Paul fitted mine, but you may need to adjust the four bolts that hold it in place? so that it feels right. Mine just feels positive - is yours difficult to shift then?
imi
When you change gears you hear a click; this is a confirmation of the shift. Sometimes when the gearbox gets really hot, you no longer get this click anymore. Also, getting it into first can be difficult sometimes, resulting in the gear slipping. SteveL
Hmm, gear selection may be a slight adjustment needed. Not noticed the click disappearing. Give Paul a shout - He runs one so may be able to help more....
