MV8
Just a couple of quick questions if i may. Does the metal stainless finish look ok in the night? Like are the lights/numbers clear at night? And does dust not show up easily on the stainless steel ones?
Thomas.B
Was thinking of buying this one: http://www.metal-monkey.co.uk/acatalog/Supra_MKIV_Auto_220mph.html Does anyone have it installed? Or know other places that sell similar? Is it just to remove the "speedo-needles" and put these over and then put the needles back as in other cars? safcdixon
do you have too calibrate the speedo when fitting these?
heckler
do you have too calibrate the speedo when fitting these? all the needles will need "calibrating" the speedo is the hardest to do.. as it really needs to be done while driving with a GPS speedo to get any decent reading off the speedo... having fitted several sets, I now have an electronic solution.... Thomas.B
How could it be hard? On the other cars I've changed on its only been to place the needle as it was, and its been the correct speed everytime. Is it different on the Supra? I'll find out when mine come

I'll find out when mine come because when the needle is removed, the spindle unwinds to it's natural stop point which is about the 5 o'clock position
Lee_e
Hecklers right... Thomas.B
Cant I just take small electronic pliers and hold it on the backside as I remove them? Is it the same with the Rev and other counters?
Lee_e
Yes they all wind back when you take the needle off. PITA !!
Thomas.B
The question was if I cant simply take a plier and hold the needle in place when removing it. You apparently didnt do any research before changing and it came out like shit, I choose to ask questions and get it right the first time. PITA
Lee_e
Easy now... You realise PITA means "pain in the ass" .. I was referring to the job .. Not you. No need to get sarcastic, its dam near impossible to get anything on the spindle and put a new facia on at the same time, theres not enough space/clearance. Hope you dont think I'm an asshole. I'll have a go at this when the new dials come so hopefully I wont have to dial them in too much. Again, sorry.
