The mkiv Supra Owners Club

Red liquid from front of car

I think you have to understand that supra's are getting cheaper and younger people are being able to buy them. So what may be obvious to you older people :D might not be to the younger more inexperienced generation who haven't had a great deal of hands on experience. I know this won't be the case for everyone as I myself have done all my own work on my cars as I love working on cars (not the supra but a 6 month oil change is on the cards). I am in now way condoning the length of this thread :p Just food for thought.

Thats why we have a WSM, all the answers for most things mkiv tt or na related are in there ;)

Its not a lot of use if you dont read it, no matter how old you are ;)

I can't wait for the "how do i get my heater to work" thread so i'll post now

Park the car on a very steep hill facing up the hill, (theres no need to do this but some think it helps:))

fill the rad to the top and the expansion tank to the max level, run the car up to normal operating

temps with the heater on full hot with the rad cap off, top up the rad as you go, the air will bubble

out of the rad, keep the car running till the bubbles stop and the heater is nice and hot, put rad cap back on.

You will lose coolant as you do this but looks worse than it is.

When cool check expansion tank level and radiator level and top up if required.

No need for 10 pages of how do i bleed the air out thread now ;)

That's very true, its a great read as there is some interesting stuff in it. I do think some people are too eager to post questions than putting some down time into reading up on it. When I get a car my first port of call is a haynes manual which I read (most of it) so that if something does happen I have a rough idea of the problem. Before I got the supra I spent ages reading on here, this site is an amazing resource and the people on here a credit to it.

Ive not read all that but you'll need more than 1 gallon of coolred or 4life as the system holds over 8 litres, it also

shouldnt be watered down, its pre mixed

Ok cool so I'll make sure I buy at least 8 litres.

I'll probably leave it till the weekend to fit the new radiator and add the coolant so I don't rush to get it done before it gets dark :)

Check what your buying from Halfords as they sell both pre mixed and concentrate that you dilute, pre mixed is the

way to go in my opinion.

I'll pop there tonight and make sure I get the pre-mixed stuff as I need to get some oil for my runaround anyhow.
