The Hornet
It's a good choice to go for a 600 for first big bike, they handle extremely well and can compensate well for most in-experienced rider's. Have ridden most the 600's, cbr's, gixers, zzr's, r6's etc etc - they all good fun. Will still stick with me 1000 V-twin though. Be safe and take it easy.. Guest chiefvinso
I did my test in america and rode an 2004 R6. It was awesome, especially after 10000 rpm - no helmet law in illinois but I bought one after doing 155 with just shades, shorts and a t shirt. I would have to do my DA as they dont recognise my american licence but they recognise licences from countries I have never heard of. The gixxer is nice bike too so good luck with your DA, I might do it one day once I think I can justify buying a nice bike only to ride not so frequently. womble
The gixa's a class bike mate you'll enjoy that ....... 0-60 quicker than my z !!!!! 5.2 ish I seem to remember Probably closer to 3.2 than 5.2 !!. If you're still after insurance try these guys http://www.insuremce.com , afer a two year lay off they gave me the cheapest quote on my K5 by nearly £100, have a good ring round and then give 'em a call. Enjoy .
salvatore
Just about found the best quote so far - Elite Underwriters qouting £600 FC, garaged...i know that's alot, but you shoulda seen the rest
BigRoy
Thats bloody good for FC after a DA mate! Well done. I saw your model at a dealers today, I like:D I think the retro paint scheme looks the business. I took out a K5 600 for a test a while back, along with a mate who had a new CBR6 on test. We allways take two out and swap half way through. We both agreed that the Gixer was the better package. Great fun engine that just revs and revs, apart from the finish it beat the new CBR hands down in all areas.
salvatore
Cheers roy - when guy at shop said finance was ok, and which bike did i want, i was like a kid in a sweet shop Was originally gonna go for the standard spec gixer, but the special edition looks that little bit more special, plus you get a nice shiny yoshi can as well! Hopefully it will hold it's price a little bit better than the normal one, might be a selling point when it comes to it (not for a long while yet tho'...) The Hornet
Yup special editions do hold their price better, but ya best bet is to trade in every 2-3 years for a new one. Keep the bike clean / immaculate and you dont loose much money. Or I haven't at my local main dealers anyway, they seem to give me more for the trade in than i would get sellin private. But then I have used them this way for 10 years now Will be trading me VTR1000 in at end of this summer too. Hoping to get the NEW VTR1000 SP2 Test rode one and they are very nice indeedy! http://www.mileskingsport.com/honda-vtr100sp2.htm
