which paint for Plastic engine parts

For all those who have sprayed and colour coded there plastic engine bits ie (fan shroud, fuse box lids etc) can you tell me is this a fairly easy job......im thinking of getting the DIY skills on the go at the weekend and spraying it all just wondered whats bits I will need to do the job ie primer etc.

 

never done any spraying before so any help most welcome :D

hey mate, i did my wheels a few weeks ago.... diffrent grades of sandpaper are a must.... primer, secondary coat (or the colour you want) and lacquer (plenty of it for a real deep shine)

 

Have you got any pics, what type of paint did you use and what colour?

To be honest I would never DIY this sort of work as Ive seen too many of them look terrible after a lot of tome was spent painting them and the paint has started cracking etc after only a few weeks...

 

I let my bodyshop do this sort of work. :thanks:

Ive done a few bits in mine and i used bog standard, out of the spray tin halfords grey primer, paint and laquer. Its even on buy 2 get 3rd free. Plenty of layers of each and 5 months down the line it still looks the same as it did the day i got it. check my sig for pics (done a few more since then so not up to date).
