Guigsy
I have win 7 on a bootable USB stick. And I've used it twice without issue on a few laptops. My main Pc is running vista and is so slow and impossible to use (despite being a decent spec) decided to update. Booted the win7 USB stick then it gets stuck at the very first screen you get after the loading screen. The screen is blue with some flowers on it iirc. There are no buttons to click, no scroll bars, nothing on the screen appart from the background to the normal install and a mouse curser. I left it for a while the other week before giving up and turning off then going on holiday. Now I'm trying again and it's stumped me! I suspect the hd is a bit iffy but vista does boot and work for 20-30 mins before it crashes but that doesn't matter I just need to get into the win7 install to format another drive where I'm going to install it. Help! I want to play portal2
Guigsy
Oh. It's just now decided to progress to the welcome screen. Seems very slow compared to when I installed it on the laptop and notebook

Scott
Had this happen a few times. It's something down to the chipset IIRC. Vista did it with me as well. Takes about 10 mins to go from the initial screen to the actual select country screen. PITA but you get used to it. Could be coincidence but I'm sure I hit ctrl-del, and loads of other random keys in frustration, and it came up quicker.

I did try that but it didn't seem to help Now I've forgotten my steam password and the recovery emails are not coming through!
The-Plethora
So what are you doing about the online sensation that is Portal 2! ? do you have webmail or something you can check? as it's an automated mail it might get filtered into spam. Guigsy
I use gmail and have for years. Still no emails this morning. I'm thinking I got my steam I'd wrong. Although I can check that by going through my steam folder. I know my password is slightly different to the ones I normally use for some reason. Other than that I'll have to contact the support people!
