Chris Wilson
Even the ducks came for a gander. I had a stinking cold, but well worth getting up before 6.00 AM this morning to walk the dogs and facing the M6 traffic to get there before 9.00 AM. Action shots not very good, 20% camera, 80% photographer faults Most Wednesday morning test sessions now feature some real exotica as it's one of the few circuits with no noise issues. http://www.gatesgarth.com/mallory-thumbs/mallory.html
Swampy442
That ERA is beautiful, some real nice cars there. I want that job lol. I went to something similar at Silverstone a few years back with lots of old race cars, the Napier Railton, Bentlys and some really weird 14 litre V twin 3 wheeler. Most of them were battered. When I asked why million pound cars looked like shit, the reply was "theyre racing cars" Touche I thought
Chris Wilson
Fastest thing by far was the home built carbon tubbed "Stratos" silhouette car with turbo bike engine (Hayabusa?) The series demands a working reverse gear. How far, and how fast it has to move backwards is unspecified, hence the bits that look like they have come from the Town Hall clock on a second "starter motor". Blisteringly quick car, in the low 41 secs, maybe in the 40's.

Chris Wilson
I thought it had a soft tyre on the way back as it started pulling to one side, then I realised it wanted to go into a scrap yard for an extended rest. The old girl's had a hard life, but having given it its annual steam off it will have to keep going a while longer yet Plus the scrap one I acquired abit back has new rear self levelling dampers, new front struts, and new anti roll bar links. I might be able to stop it sounding like a jack hammer over bumps with a bit of time spent on it!
