jaymdee
I've just found that I've got the same problem as in this thread :http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?190643-Power-steering-hose-part-number&highlight=power+steering+leak[ANGRY][/ANGRY] Took some pics but it's the identical same leak from the same spot. can someone please verify this is the return side (ie not HP) and what type of hose/fitting I need to replace it with? many thanks Jon

jaymdee
Hopefully Keron is sorting me out with a used banjo hard pipe. Is this ATF any good? How much do I need - the system will be fully drained http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ATF-DIII-DEXRON-3-Automatic-Transmission-Fluid-5-ltr-/250521944613?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a54458225#ht_1556wt_905 cheers
Homer
Good to see this, I have the same leak around both banjo joints.. I was hoping it was just the copper washers as I reused those and don't think you're supposed to! Jon, that's the right stuff
jaymdee
cheers Daryl - couldn't believe it mate, just got car back from having a new rear wheel bearing fitted and it dumped the PS fluid !!!! Haven't driven it for 5 weeks, luckily still got MR2, lol. Just hope the pump is knackered.... Any idea how many litres I need to buy? cheers
Homer
Good old MR2 still serving you well The entire system uses about 4 litres, however at least 2 litres of that is in the rack itself which won't drain out. I think you should be able to get by on 2 litres, but best to be safe than sorry After disconnecting both of the rack lines on mine it didn't even use 2 litres to top it up and bleed it.
