how_supra
Its really exciting. I'm so shocked. Everyone in my office looked at each other, a little confused how we managed it.

JustGav
I don't honestly believe this is a good idea... For god sakes, the M25 can't handle the daily traffic, never mind the olympic traffic... or are they going to rebuild the M25...great we get stuck with a motorway that will be shut for 7 years..... Also, think about how two faced this really is... last week it was Live8, about helping out the impoverished countries, now we are going to spend MILLIONS on some silly sporting events trying to prove who is better.... where is the logic... And yeah, it might help the short term labour issues, but then we get left with HUGE stadiums which are no good whatsoever, as someone earlier said just look at the millenium dome... Just my 2p.... Sharpie
Extra tax for people living in London then, even if you are not a sport fan.
TLicense
I really couldn't agree more gav. I think it's a rubbish idea. Just when we're telling people that our infrastructure is not able to support it's current load, we place a massive increase on it with this. Our government is a massive joke. Sharpie
now we are going to spend MILLIONS And they say that funds are tight for the NHS
Guest Terry S
Hate to disagree Gav, but the area is a complete shit hole at the moment. If you historically look at the countries that have held the Olympics, it has generally finacially been a great sucess long term. The G8 point is very good though. BigRoy
Oh for god's sake! Guy's and gal's we have it sooooo good in this country. I'm not a fan of Blair or Labour but don't take things for granted. Ive lived elsewhere in the world, nothing beats England, count yourself lucky:D
Class One
I hope then, that there is a cross party element to this rather than just let the current Government mess this one up. After all its 7 years away, surely our current Government won't still be in power will they????
BigRoy
I suppose if they wanted to put race tracks all around the UK we would all be for that then?
