Paul
Not that anyone will be too bothered but thought I'd mention it anyway I do PPE testing so a fair bit of our lab was shown. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-13517638
Charlotte
I hope you weren't wearing your BNP t-shirt today.
Havard
I am disappointed that they just fire ball bearings at goggles with no one wearing them. Where is your sense of adventure? I bet you have a smoke alarm at home too..!! H.
Paul
No BNP shirt, it was in the wash that day It was filmed on Friday and I had that day off, funny that as the bosses insisted I take the holiday..lol ??? All the samples sent in are used for testing and those and the spares are securely stored and finally sent off for incineration at the end of the job so no freebies I'm afraid
monsween
I've got a question on hard hats. Do they really get corroded when you put stickers on them? We've been told this before and i think its a myth
Paul
I don't test the hard hats or crash helmets but I'll ask the guy that does most of that testing as he sits feet away from me in the office and has years of experience. I did mention this with regards to crash helmets a while back and I seemed to remember that he said that some solvents in sticker adhesives can affect the cheaper crash helmets so that might be the case with hard hats too? I'll find out and let you know tommorow.

We've been told this before and i think its a myth I've been told this before too with Halli's. I dont put them on anymore because if you have an accident and you have the stickers on the hard hat, it could void your insurance claim. Rob
Who's the blonde piece in the gimp mask?
Paul
The answer is it 'could' be possible that the sticker has an adhesive that might damage or alter the structure of the material that the hat/helmet is made from, as such manufacturers will test and ensure that any sticker or printing that they do prior to selling will not have a detrimental affect on their product and it is tested by us with these in place. The thing is that although many stickers will not cause any problems at all the manufacturer has no control on the type and will use it as a get out should it fail and as said it would void any claim, so the best bet is to keep them sticker free.
