Lez
I know its JAE weekend but for those who are not going I have an alternative offer for you. I have been granted permission to purchase advanced tickets for a limited number of guests, 20 cars, to the RAF Brize Norton Bike Club ¼ mile speed trials on Sunday 24th July. 08:30 – 18:30hrs THIS IS NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC just invited guests. The trial is on a smooth taxi-way with a ½ mile run-off and the return is down the longest operational runway you’ll ever drive on with no speed limit. They had to caution one car driver last year for braking to late and only just making the turn off, he said sorry and claimed a speed of 185mph. As this is MOD property you will need an escorted entry into the station (which I will do, at pre-arranged times) and proof of identity (driving licence) for everyone with you. The event is; • 2 tracks for dual starts with professional timer equipment • 3 runs £15 • 9 runs £30 (early start required could be busy) • BBQ & refreshments available, no alcohol • 99 Sqn bar opens at 18:00hrs If I get flooded with to many people wanting to come then it will be first to pay me who gets the tickets. I will accept cheques, paypal, e-gold, stormpay or cash. ADD £1 to cover fees. PM me with your intentions. Remember this is a biker’s event weekend, but what an opportunity! MrAngry
WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT ????????? I KNOW THE ORGANISER'S GOT THE POSTER AND TOOK PART LAST YEAR OR are you referring some of the facts within the posting? Yeah the part about it being the second longest operational runway. Sounds like a good blast though any time on an airfield is a bonus

Sharpie
DAMN! I'd love to go but, am at JAE. If this EVER happens again, PLEASE give me a shout. My mate used to live at Brize but, worked at Strike
Elliot
I'd love to do this, but am terrified I'll break something! Is there any Supra specific advice on doing top speed runs anywhere? If so, then I might want to give it a go. What safety measures do you need? Crash helmet, fire extinguisher?
