Ian R
Bummer if it was something terminal then fine but grief from a poxy alarm system is gutting. If I was Clarkson I would have it back but on the ground that Ford paid for clifford to install a top of the range alarm system and rip out the ford one
John_M
I just cant believe that Mr Ford didnt go over that car with a fine tooth coomb before giving it to someone like Clarkson and then if problems arose pull out all the stops to get it fixed first time. Lets face it, they've not got great publicity out of this!
eldudereno
If he doesn't want to profit on the car I'll buy it off him for £126k if he likes and I'll sell it on for a £50k profit.

Lets face it, they've not got great publicity out of this! Exactly - but they have been nice by giving him a DB9 until he makes his mind up! what would be nice is if they took it back to him with everything fixed and said - 'here you go,all done Mr C have it back you wont get any hassles from it' - he obviously loves the car so he would take it back with open arms. I cant beleive Ford cant fix a poxy alarm.
Guest Sakura
I cant beleive Ford cant fix a poxy alarm. Amazing! You would think Ford could find someone who could sort it out
CJ
Amazing! You would think Ford could find someone who could sort it out They should have taken it to Matt H eh?
Alex
I know it should have worked straight away and they SHOULD have fixed it...but if he loved the car enough he would have gotten Ford to pay for it to be fixed. I think he was so pissed off he lost his love of the car, I'd stick with the DB9 personally...but I think in the long run he'll kick himself for not getting it sorted and getting it back. Matt T
but they have been nice by giving him a DB9 until he makes his mind up! Anyone else and they would have got a Ford Ka replacement
Guest Sakura
They should have taken it to Matt H eh? Great idea. Someone should tell Clarkson - and Ford! Think of the great publicity He might even be persuaded to change his mind about Supras
Scoboblio
Personally I'd say definately keep it. It's an absolute icon of a car, looks and sounds superb One of my dream cars is a DB9, but that's just the latest in a long line of Astons and will enventually be replaced - the GT40 will always be a legend. Besides I'm sure that most of us have felt like this at one time or another with our soops, trying to fix a reccuring problem that annoys the hell out of you. But giving up on such a nice car because of an alarm system surely questions his car-enthusiasm.
John_M
At least with the DB9 he can get over the Hammersmith Bridge and park in his parking space at the BBC.
Kopite
he waited 2 years for it, surely he can play with the Aston while lettin Ford fix the poxy alarm

lovatt
i have worked on brand new cars (for ford as it happens) sometimes a new model has a niggle from the factory, it may be an intermitant fault that seems to be fixed but shows up later, there may be no magical fix for the problem, remember mechanics are only human to no matter what budget they are on, in my eyes ford dealt with it very well, if it was mine i would rip the ford system out and have another alarm fitted
Stu_Fraser
He must be mad, should definitely keep it and fit another alarm system......... must be nice to be in a position to afford a car like that in the first place.
michael
Have you seen the thread on Supraforums about this? As usual all they seem to want to do it get at the English http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=295979
