RedM
I've had no issues sending email from my phone using my Plusnet account but as of today I get a message saying that it can't send email. I can receive mail. If I try to go into my account settings I get told that it can't verify the settings as the server cannot be reached. I've been using Plusnet SMTP as follows: Login required is checked. Username is myaccountname+xxxxxxx.xxxxxx (where that is the sub address name) password is my password for that account. smtp server is relay.plus.net security type is none server port is 25. I've tried all sorts of things for the last hour. Can't get it to send. Any ideas?
Scott
I had this issue a while back. I had to change the settings to use an SSL server for outgoing mail. Is it possible they have changed their policy recently?
RedM
They haven't said so.
Scott
Change the outgoing server to relay.plus.com rather than relay.plus.net, just on the outgoing server though, and give that a try.
RedM
Didn't work.
RedM
Now working after I put all the details in from scratch. The same details that weren't working before!
Scott
Found this... You may find that outgoing mail via relay.plus.net doesn't work when connected to your mobile network in which case you need to send using the mobile network's smtp server. Not sure if it is of any help? I would try your mobile providers outgoing mail server.
RedM
Found this... Not sure if it is of any help? I would try your mobile providers outgoing mail server. I tried that and everything else I could find. It now works again (as above) with the same setting that weren't working.
