SupraDan24
I got stuck in Aberdeen for an extra week last time the Ash Cloud decided to flaunter over to the uk and ground all the planes/choppers. Looks like i may get stuck in Denmark this time as i'm due home Friday morning. Bloody Ash Cloud !!
Swampy442
Is it gonna hit Denmark then, theyre saying it wont affect our airspace much if at all? Besides, theres far worse places to be stuck than Denmark
AndrewOW
Didn't you know it was the end of the world, and you shouldn't really be planning anything beyond the past weekend? Good luck getting home.
AJI
On a bit of a side track here but do either the airline operators or the basic travel insurance policies cover ash clouds these days, you know, after the affects and disruption of the last one? I know that probably the more expensive travel insurance policies will probably cover it, but what about as a basic cover, either by the airline operator as part of their ticket sale/refund policy or by the insurer in their basic travel insurance? Gaz6002
I heard on the news yesterday you have to check the small print of your travel insurance policy. Some do, some don't.
SupraDan24
I also heard you have to check the small print. If it was me, i'd just call and ask when booking my flight. My flights get booked through work though, so i dont lose money either way. There are worse places to be stuck, but when your sat on an Oil Rig when you should be at home with your Gf getting ready to go to Teneriffe for a stag do, then you wish you were home pretty quickly lol. Plus i've got a load of bits i want done to the Soop this trip home, ive finally got my hands on some stock skirts, so i'm really looking forward to getting them on
caseys
Denmark? You're in the land of Bacon. That's close to my equivalent of Mecca.

SupraDan24
Denmark? You're in the land of Bacon. That's close to my equivalent of Mecca. Me and a couple of the English guys have just been having a conversation about this. For a country thats famous for its pork, the sausages and bacon have been terrible out on the rig. They have their bacon is small shreadded pieces that are cooked until they start to burn, and their sausages are like German sausage, still pink inside and a strange consitency. It may just be isolated to the rig though, but i havent been impressed. Now the pastries on the other hand....YUM !!
caseys
Not good bacon though. Good pastries though. And why I now have to ask... have they never combined the two? I am though assuming here that any off-shore catering is going for cost rather than quality there Dan.
Charlotte
And why I now have to ask... have they never combined the two? Have you never had a cheese and bacon pastry? Nom! The way they keep the pigs in Denmark isn't great - the quality of pork in the UK is much better.

Jeeez I think you should return the ring. You can get an overnight sleeper from Warsaw to Paris. Good back up plan if you need one.
mellonman
nice one charlotte! i spoke to her and was saying there was no trains, she is not all there in the head i swear it just gets some bad news and runs around like a head less chicken and not doing anything about it bless her. Charlotte
Ha! Women do unfortunately tend to panic more. The train goes from Warsaw to Berlin then Paris - I think the details are on the 'seat61' website. Perhaps she could even re-route her flight to go directly to Paris if the worst happened? RedM
The way they keep the pigs in Denmark isn't great - the quality of pork in the UK is much better. Is that because they're murdered in a much more pleasant way over here? *facepalm*
