a98pmalcolm
Hay all. Ok i went to fit my standard fuel pressure regulator back on today but there is a mysterious vacuum pipe appeared. I fitted the power boost valve myself (and have fitted many to other cars) but i want to refit the orignal one back on and well... with this extra pipe so im a little stuck. Ok My engine before power boost valve is fitted. http://img862.imageshack.us/img862/241/06102009006.jpg Then after I fitted the power boost valve. Notice how the blue vacuum pipe goes over the inlet manifold to fit were the orignal vacuum pipe was. This was taken a whle back. http://img806.imageshack.us/img806/6487/03012010108.jpg Now i went to go fit the orignal one back on and radnom T piece connector has been fitted to connect were the vacuum of the FPR goes, the after market FPR and this mysterious pipe. I didn't fit this so a motorsport company have while my car as been in. Possiably JPS when i had my fuel pulsator bypass fitted. http://img831.imageshack.us/img831/586/20110522001.jpg http://img835.imageshack.us/img835/5162/20110522002.jpg http://img545.imageshack.us/img545/8651/20110522003.jpg Can anyone tell me were this black vacuum pipe is ment to be? leelbuk
Looks like it's entering the cabin where the loom goes through from here. Got a boost gauge or an electronic boost controller hooked up?
a98pmalcolm
Water injection control box in the glove compartment.. I was just about to add this being a possiabilty...
a98pmalcolm
Can the boost be read correctly off the vacuum to the FPR?
Wez
Can the boost be read correctly off the vacuum to the FPR? Not ideal as I like to keep the fpr line clean of any other references but it will work.
Homer
Not ideal as I like to keep the fpr line clean of any other references but it will work. Absolutely. You really should not T anything into the MAP sensor and FPR feed lines, they are critical to keeping your engine fueled, people have blown engines before with the FPR feed popping off. As mentioned above, the line is aftermarket so is likely to be feeding something behind the dash - boost gauge, boost controller, or your water injection kit. You can use one of the other pressure reference lines to T into, there's several to choose from but the easiest will probaly be the one at the back of the intake manifold You really need to be careful messing around with this line. Personally, I would never use silicon hoses for them, and even if you have to, cable tie them on to each connector. Hopefully you can correct that now. Homer
There's a line out of the back of the intake manifold, dead centre of the housing, you'll spot it when you look. I don't beleive it's dampened though, so you might need to add an inline filter (about £2).
a98pmalcolm
What do you mean by dampened? Sorry i mustsound a complete noob lol
a98pmalcolm
Ok all done and dusted. I have fitted the standard FPR and re-routed the water injection vacuum pipe aka *The Mysterious Exra Pipe* to were i belive my boost controller sender is: http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/6056/20110524002.jpg http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/4784/20110524001.jpg This shoud be a better place than the FPR vacuum pipe. All seems to be working well and running smooth But what a bitch betthing the banjo bolt all lined up with the fuel regulator and screwing it in with the throttle cable housing all there lol.
