Vaughany
Hi everyone, I have a PHR stage 1 single turbo that is set up on the emanage. I am currently running 1.4 bar but i have noticed that the fuel cut parameter has not been set up. Would I be right in saying that running a single with bigger injectors (PE 650cc) I do not need to set a fuel cut. I have obviously not hit the fuel cut but I was wandering why I dont need to set this. I had the emanage on when I was running stock twins and 440's and the fuel cut was set. Why is it different on the new setup?
SimonB
With bigger injectors you will be scaling the airflow signal down so the ECU scales the amount of fuel down. That means that at full 1.4 BAR the ECU will be seeing less than 1 BAR, so will never invoke fuel cut.
Alex
Agree with Simon. But if you want to set it up anyway as a back up then just set it to 4.40v across the range.

As you have man enough injectors for the job, you will never need 100% duty, therefore you will never send the ECU an airflow signal indicating 1bar of boost, therefore you'll never instigate fuel cut -Ian
Vaughany
Thanks Ian my knowledge is growing - slowly but surely. Just out of interest what approximate boost would I need to running for the boost cut to operate taking into account my current setup. Alex
I think you'd have to max out your injectors. Cause then you're fuel map would have lots of 0's and no fuel pulled out of the map. Therefore the ECU would see "stock" voltages and you'd hit the FC. It depends on injector size, rail pressure and turbo size for starters...it's should be a lot of boost! Vaughany
Thanks, I think I will just leave the fuel cut off then. No need to program it, I cant see myself going above 1.4 bar on optimax anyway.
Ian C
There is no need to set it, you'll never reach it with your setup - the stock MAP sensor clips at 1.2bar, so if at 1.2bar you don't hit fuel cut you never will, even at 2 bar -Ian
