The Raven
As above. Just watched a doc on a animal that had been scaring and mauling a bunch of villagers out in brazil. The people being attacked simply called it the devil. They firmly belived that they where set upon by a demon. After they had talked to these people for a while they put together a profile of the animal. Apart from one very funny moment where they told the guy (who still has scars from the attack) he was owned by a giant ant eater. They started showing these people pictures. Many of the animals these people knew, many they didnt. Until the showed them a picture of the giant ground sloth..... The confirmed it was the animal, however said the picture showed the wrong fur shade, and the claws where to long. I love this kind of thing, i watch alot of these kind of programs. Just wondered if anyone else does.
KamaSupra
I saw that program too, I love these programs where they try explaining mysteries and go in search of strange creatures
Supra Gaz
I watched that too, its interesting to see how other people live, its better than that stupid Essex programme that my misses watches
The Raven
It was funny when they told him he got taken out by an ant eater. They carry silver bullets to kill it if it ever attacks, as they say normal shot wont break the skin.
Rob
Until the Beeb showed a documentary about how people released their pet pumas and leopards into the wilds back when the Wild Animals Bill was passed, most people in the UK thought stuff like the Beast of Bodmin were cryptozoology. Then you've got those "rods" things in that hole in the ground, that was comprehensively proved to be inadvertant camera effects. Don't forget the Owl Man of Cornwall though. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Owlman
JakeG
Rods have not just been seen in a big hole, theres countless videos and pictures of them and they are not camera trickery lol
The Raven
Rods, Where to start, some think they are a insect that moves to fast for the human eye to see. Ive been reading up about the dinosaur thats supposed to be living in some swamps.over the past 100 years natives talk about mokele-mbembe (blocker-of-rivers). These dinosaur sightings come from varied areas, but are startlingly similar. All of them involve a creature that spends most of its time in the water, though it climbs ashore during the day in search of food. Its size is approximately between an elephant and hippopotamus but with a long neck and small head. And the mokele-mbembe feeds off of specific vegetation and fruit growing along the water’s edge. No matter where they have been spotted in Africa, the natives all say that hippopotamus and alligators quickly leave the section of the river where this creature roams. It is very territorial and aggressively protects its area. Every time natives are shown pictures, they quickly identify a sauropod-type dinosaur, similar in shape to a small Apatosaurus Id love it if they found one of these. Also heard an interesting idea that the knights of old didnt go of to slay dragons they where killing the last of the dinosaurs.

It is camera lag from flying insects. It has been widely proven with scientific process and experiment. The only people saying otherwise are the usual flakes and oddballs. The Raven
is it not along the lines of the chupacabra that south americans see? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chupacabra No this is a much much bigger. They id a picture of a giant ground sloth. Its not out of the question these things could have been living deep in the jungle. They are said to stink, and be very aggressive if approached, normal shot couldnt kill it. IMO these people saw something that scared the poo out of them, and they are used to hippos, tigers, ect The chupacabra is i think mostly myth, the reports are all over the place. That or some kind of DNA experement, i dont think they are a natural animal if they are real
drift_bear
would still be pretty cool to see either of them. i like watching programs like that cause it makes you think about all the species of animal that arent found yet and also how we know so little about the animals that are getting found or etc
The Raven
I think the best chance of finding something really cool would be in the deep sea. Who knows what kind of monsters are down there.

The Raven
plus the fact we know more about space than we do our own oceans Indeed. Coelacanths were thought to have gone extinct in the Late Cretaceous, but were rediscovered in 1938 off the coast of South Africa.

SupraDan24
I like the Giant Squid theories/myths as well. I remember watching a documentary years ago where they showed how squid size increase incremently with increased ocean depth. They used it to estimate how big a squid would be if it lived at the bottom of the ocean, and it was pretty bloody huge lol.
