Stonkin
Hi, Here we have Mark's NA Supra from the forum booked in for a stage 1 paint enhancement. These are the pictures over the course of its transformation. After Mark's long journey First off the wheels were cleaned with Bilberry and tyres with APC It was then jet washed and snow foamed After being washed via 2 bucket method with Shampoo Plus, these were some defects caught in the sunlight. The fairly new Seibon bonnet suffering from buffer trails after production The Supra was then clayed inside and washed again. The levels of contamination robbing the paint of its metallic finish
Stonkin
Paint thickness readings were then taken. The car had recieved various paint over the years. Some areas were better than others Inspecting the finish with LED and halogen lighting
Stonkin
One final pic before starting Polish to be used was Menzerna 106fa. Not all defects would be removed with a stage 1 but this would give us enough level of cut whilst also refining to a good finish Using the Makita rotary, 3M backing plate for control and 3M polishing pad
Stonkin
Preparing the rear wing 50/50's Moving onto the passenger door Round to the front wing Taped up Showing the level of clearcoat removal from polished to unpolished Starting to look better Drivers wing Passenger wing
Stonkin
Onto the carbon bonnet which Mark thought would not need much attention Carbon can quickly oxidise over time if unprotected Completed Drivers side Rear wing looking a bit sorry for itself All other areas were then completed. The wheels were treated with Sealant, tyres dressed with Endurance Gel, exhaust polished with NXT, headlights machined, Glass polished, interior was hoovered and dusted down. After this the paint was wiped down with an IPA solution to remove polishing oils. I then applied Dodo Juice Lime Prime Lite as a glaze and pre-wax cleanser and finally it was protected with 1 application of Victoria Concourse wax. These were the final pics
Stonkin
It was, as always, pleasing to see Mark's reaction once it was uncovered on his arrival. He was a very genuine and nice guy to deal with. Thanks for looking, Christian.
