Wez
Where is the best place to buy Mikalor clamps and what is a good price? Looking for 80 - 90mm. I have also noticed that they do two types, is the more expensive type actually needed or are the normal clamps ok? The Supra clamp uses 430 stainless steel with zinc plated high tensile bolt and thread locks. Use for the toughest of hose and exhaust clamping applications. The Supra W4 (Pro) clamp is made of 304 marine grade stainless steel throughout. Use for improved corrosion resistance and highest clamp pressure. Wez
Its a TVR supplier, I am going to call them tomorrow to confirm. I thought it looked cheap, I will keep you posted. Another example is Power Engineering 85-91mm £3.29 and £8.93 for the W4 type.
Wez
I also have found a couple of other suppliers :- http://www.tidyco.co.uk/store/honda/waterpumps/pump_hose_kits.asp http://www.actionsealtite.com/prod-clamps.asp I think the non car based suppliers are likely to sell them alot cheaper. Wolf
We use zero clips in Birmingham - they do bulk trade but if you buy 100 they come out at about 60p each for the big ones - these are for the full stainless For my bike exhaust business I don't go above 63mm but if anyone here wants me to get a box of 100 to split between enough people on the board I'll happily do so For smaller size 32mm thru 63mm I always have hundreds in stock so will happily help out anyone on the board at cost... SimonB
Mikalor stainless band hose clips 12-20mm £0.60 Mikalor Stainless band clips 18-27mm £0.65 Mikalor Stainless band hose clip 30-50 £0.70 Mikalor stainless band hose clip 70-90mm £0.95 I bought mine from a place called RallyNuts but those sizes don't match so not sure what's going on there? They list: 73-79mm £2.95 79-85mm £3.08 85-91mm £3.16 I think you must have a different type there. There's not much point in the W4 clamps IMHO, they are almost exactly the same as the cheaper ones. JohnK
I am in need of the real heavy duty clamps as I sometimes blow hoses off.
SimonB
I am in need of the real heavy duty clamps as I sometimes blow hoses off. They're both real heavy duty. The W4 ones are just made of a better quality stanless steel. Trust me, the standard Supra ones will be fine.
