maybe he was fed up of Perms and Shell Suits

Or the European cup was just too damn heavy to hold. Takes two of your girls to hold the Premiership trophy ;)

I heard on the news that he was not happy Sol Campbell was on more cash than him..

It's terrible he is going, especially after all he said in the press after winnning the Euro.

It's the same thing in football... If the press get wind of a rumour, all will deny (

Goodbye Judas!! Dont let the door hit you on the way out.

You could have been a F**kin legend, but you sold your soul to the bright lights and ill gained roubles. I hope you enjoy your exile, with the empty meaningless trophies that money will buy, because you sure as hell arent gonna be welcome back in Huyton lad, let alone L4.

In a way i'm glad. The Stevie Gerrard FC show is over and were back to Liverpool FC. The media hype is gone now.

£25 mill and Damien Duff will do nicely thank you very much. Or dosh and one or two from Real.

Raffa has played a blinder on this with his thinly veiled comments about manager, coach and scout, revealing exactly how much Stevie started believing his own hype and trying to run the team.

Thanks for the good times along the way.....but Tara lad.

Ro, have a read of this thread...

So what do all you Pool fans think of the latest development. Still want Judas and all the other names you've been calling him to leave or do you suddenly love him again. You are a one man team after all.

Could i stir the pot some more....

LOL

I support Liverpool and have to say I think Gerrard is over-playing his "best player" hand!

Lets not for one second think that we could have won the CL without him.......and we will always be a better team with him (state the bleedin' obvious), but as previously posted - football is now a business - and I think he is now at his most valuable as a saleable asset.

Is a tough one - but the Blue's didn't exactly suffer when they sold Shrek did they?

To be honest, in footballing terms obviously it's good he's staying (although stats showed we had a better win average, better goals for AND against without him!). He's got a lot to prove to the fans now, i personally don't think he should stay as he's not commited. twice in 2 years he's been tempted away by Chelsea mainly, if he loved the club who happen to be European Champions and have a history that no one in England can come close to, then he would never ever thought of leavin for chelsea. to go abroard is different, wouldn't be as bad. my respect for gerrard dipped last season in ALL the games against Chelsea - he was far too friendly with them. he knocked drogba over and was there pickin him up and huggin him - that's not what gerrard usually does, usually he knocks them over and tells them to fuck off.

if he does stay then he can't kid himself. Liverpool fans are divided over him, some will boo him some will cheer him. the only thing that sickens me is what other liverpool fans are sayin, they're kissin his arse and suckin his dick at the same time! sky sports gettin emails from fans sayin that Gerrard is the figurehead of the word commitment...WTF?! a player who has been tempted to leave twice in a year, handed in a transfer request and changed his mind is suddenly 100% commited?! fuck off!

Gerrard does have a lot to prove, his name was cheered more than any others but that isn't the case anymore - Carragher, Alonso, Hamann etc are all cheered more now. Even Cisse has shown he wants to be at the club - he got married in all red!

i won't cheer Stevie as usual (will cheer him still as he IS a liverpool player), certainly not goin to boo him because real fans don't turn on the players that easily - hardly any ex-players get booed when they come back in different colours.

And as for bein captain? i say give the band to Carra!

Well looks like soft lad has had his bluff called. Same contract that he turned down the other day. No changes. When push came to shove, the club proved they were bigger than your ego Stevie. Now a bit of humble pie eating, and we can all move on. Its been emotional!!!

STEVEN GERRARD today insisted the speculation which has plagued the last two years of his Anfield career will end with today's contract signing.

Gerrard will pen a four-year deal which, he revealed, will not contain any get-out clauses.

The Liverpool skipper says he never wants the events of this summer and the last pre-season to be repeated and wants the world to know he is fully committed to one club.

Explaining his decision to stay, an emotional Gerrard told the ECHO today: "The last five or six weeks were the hard-est of my life because I wrongly believed the club didn't want me. I don't want to get into attaching blame to anyone.

"If I blame anyone, it's myself. I wanted my future sorted out as soon as possible after the Champions League final and when that wasn't the case, the longer it went on, the more misunderstandings there were.

"There was confusion and doubt in my mind. I had discussions with the manager, but the reports of bust-ups are complete nonsense. Now I know how much the club wants me.

"I feel I must defend my agent, Struan Marshall, in this. He's taken a lot of stick but all along he's never done anything I didn't ask him to.

"He's well respected at Liverpool and has done deals for me and other players in the past. He's conducted himself in the right way.

"He's a big factor in my decision to stay and organising the contract.

"I'll be signing the deal, maybe even today. I'd also like it known there are no clauses in that contract. This won't be happening again next summer or ever again, so far as I'm concerned.

"I've committed my long-term future to the club and I want all the speculation to end now. This is what I've wanted all along."

Gerrard hopes the fans understand the conflicting pressures he's been under but accept why the crisis developed and now get behind him and the club.

"I feel there is a weight off my mind today and I just want us to put this mess behind us," he said.

"I've only one medal left to win at Liverpool and that's the Premiership. That's what I want more than anything and Liverpool is the only place I've ever wanted to win it.

"I know there are some fans who'll be supportive and some who won't be. All I can say is it's been a difficult period for me, but I know I've made the right decision.

"In my heart, this is my club. I want to help bring success here for them and, for their sake and my own, I never want to go through this again."

Now pass that captains band to Carra mate

Not had a reply then Gaz? Mind you, no surprise there. You only have to listen to the whinging scousers on 606 to see what sort of fans they are. Win a game and they are going to be world champions - lose one and they want to sack everyone. :blahblah:
