What happened to the RPS Imi? I'm still running that and it's fine, did your's wear out eventually?

RPS Street - 40K miles of BPU and then it started to slip so was forced to change (great clutch - not sure whether its suitable for a 600bhp single though)

Julian Boulton supplied a "carbon" clutch for me to fit that was possibly an RPS, it didn't judder, or slip, but with an alloy flywheel with bolted on steel friction face, my worry would be that it may have warped under hard usage. I neither like, nor trust alloy flywheels. He sadly wrote the car off soon after, but he was a member on here. It wasn't a true carbon / carbon clutch, but the linings maybe had some carbon in them ;) That might suit, his engine was that sort of torque figure. His e-mail is:

Plate I believe.

Street Clutch, Stage 3 with the Cryo treatment - details below.

Gutted, I had heard nothing but good things about the plate clutches. The OFE stage 3 was the one I was going for :(

I have never liked paddle clutches so I'm steering well clear of those, the On/Off switch of the operation just isn't for me. I have had an RPS before and I really didn't like it so it looks like I'm going to have to up the budget :(

Bit of a re-livener on this thread as I took the car to AFR yesterday to fit the new stock clutch I bought and give it a dyno run. Got a phone call from Matt very shortly after I wandered off for breakie saying that the flywheel is knackered!

So I'll need a new flywheel too! He had a lightweight steel Competition one in stock (not sure what stage as I forgot to ask) but it uses mk3 flywheel bolts which he didn't have. It's now back time to trawl the net and find one that's suitable for use....any suggestions?

I've contacted Steve Manley at Toyota and the best price he can do is £407 delivered. I've seen the competition one's online for £290 plus delivery I think, and I would need the bolts on top.

Thanks Nic, very quick reply as always. That is what I'm thinking but they are £400 at the moment! Not sure how the price has suddenly jumped to that!

I think the aftermarket lightened steel ones are going to rattle more at idle but may accelerate more quickly. As I use the car daily I'd rather not have unnecessary noise.
