Matt H
About an hour ago I logged onto my online banking and noticed the following two purchases for £15 each. I knew I'd be had and a quick google of the payment ref confirmed it. It's never happened to me before. Is it all too much of a coincidence that the only time I've been a victim of fraud is in the mist of the PSN fiasco? This website artcile makes interesting (scarey) reading. http://www.bl0g.co.uk/o2-uk-ltd-prepay-slough-mobile-phone-scam.html

peter richards
had that a few years ago , about £300 on carphone warehouse , had it refunded by the bank after they did a few checks to see it was fraud
Matt H
As someone who works in the field of card encryption.... this isn't that scary. I guess it's pretty small fish, but first time for me and it makes me wonder whether anything has every happened before and I haven't realised (paranoia mode). had that a few years ago , about £300 on carphone warehouse , had it refunded by the bank after they did a few checks to see it was fraud Yeah, my bank responded quite well. They said the £30 would be back in my account by 18.00 and I should have a new card within 2-4 working days. I've got to fill in a form and they will pass details onto the police. shima60
I had the same thing a month or so ago. Someone got my card details then apparently went for a nice trip to eurodisney. i thought that was nice of them to take my details then not even invite me on the trip i paid for. Luckily the bank sorted it right out

Scott
Very normal thing to happen, sadly. People get your details and then use them to buy credit for others, in pubs etc. I've been offered "half price credit" before. They tend to keep the amount they charge fairly low, as it has to be a fairly high amount to warrant an investigation. Your CC company won't even bother looking into it IMO. The last time I heard a figure mentioned it was 20k to warrant a full investigation.

Matt H
I'm thinking that if the purchase is for a top-up, then o2 must have the mobile number assoicated with this transaction. I'm going to phone them up to and let them know.
mwilkinson
My eBay account was hacked once when on holiday. They sold about 60 TVs leaving me with the fees and the crap feedback. They we very good and had it all sorted in a matter of hours.
