bluecoup
popped the car on ebay today, and seem to have 2 dealers in germany offering close to the asking price already now of course there has been all the african shipping agent scams etc so am a bit wary both are offering cash when there shipping agents collect the car anyone had dealings like this, which have gone though smoothly ??? if they make cash sale can a dispute still be opened though paypal ??? cheers
Supra Gaz
Paypal can only be involved if the payment goes through them. I'm selling one of my supras to a chap from belgium but he is coming over in person. My only concern would be them trying to nick it once they knew where it was? Or forged notes? I imagine it will be ok though, organise a safe place to do the handover, with some friends about, look into the dealer on the web. If all checks out then happy days, good luck and let us know how things progress. Gary
vertex
buy yourself an ultraviolet light from eBay so you can check notes. I always do my dealings at the bank, the cashier checks the notes so no problems.
ellis
I think the 'meet my agent at the docks' ones are usually to be avoided. I had similar ones when selling my old UK spec. A quick Google of the guy's name soon brought up a lot of dirt. Sell to a person face-to-face.
bluecoup
Got no problems on the money front, I work with it everyday I've never seen a good fake yet they stand out miles. The driver is coming to collect the car, I have given him a ruff address and told him to ring me when if gets there and I'll go meet him and take him to car, Google search only gave his Facebook page, a German directory listing his business with address and contact number which he has called me from, all tally, ebay account has been active since 2005 mostly car parts bought and 100% feedback. Keeping my fingers crossed, got nice policeman live next door so going to ask him leave his car on road and be about if poss
