Markie
Anyone know of the best fitting UK size caliper pads. Reason I ask is because my pads are starting to clunk a bit again after the dry spell we have had. All is fine but the pads just seem to not glide and fit well so clunk when first applying the brakes, even the MOT guy commented, but said he checked over the calipers and all and said everything looked fine. I think they currently house the Endless pads (Blue) Last time I had them out I put a touch of greese on the runners and the problem was solved, now back to square one. Any suggestions on pads welcomed

Markie
Wonder how the rears are. I think the rears are the worst.
Chris Wilson
Any pad will clunk if the anti rattle bits are missing. I prefer pads to rattle about as there's far less chance of them sticking, but Toyota designed various springs and clips to stop it if it bugs you. I probably have most of them in stock, new and used. My fast road pads are £130 plus VAT a set for J-Spec and £140 a set plus VAT for UK spec. Prices are for a full car set, front and rear. P&P to UK postcodes is £7.80 plus VAT, which is a bargain!!
Markie
Chris have any pics of the springs etc. They have some sort of spring already which they have had for ages.
DaveR
Chris have any pics of the springs etc. They have some sort of spring already which they have had for ages. I thought it was just me that had this annoying clunking from the rear brakes! Glad to know I'm not alone, although I wish it didn't happen to anyone... Reason for the quote above is I'd quite like the answer to the question as well... I have the stock anti-rattle springs and clips, too but the clunking, although reduced since a good de/re-grease, persists.
Chris Wilson
I'll have to upload a screenshot off the parts CD. Jap spec brakes clunk if the pin sockets are worn, which is a lot better than them being seized solid
DaveR
Fair one. I have UK spec brakes that were refurbished with new seals, etc and fitted with new pad mounting pins (or whatever they're called - the two black pins per caliper that the holes in the top of the brake pad slide along) as well as new discs and pads about a year ago. To be honest, I figured either something wasn't quite right with the refurbishment or that the disc/pad combination I have (DBA discs / Hawk fast road pads) is just naturally noisy - they squeal like a stuck pig until they've warmed up a bit!
