MaveriK
Greetings All, Do all of these come with a turbo? Are there any models to avoid? And yes, i am trolling around the net for answers but from the horses mouth is always better. Thanks in advance
Havard
I am guessing but my understanding was that the 330d wasd a single turbo and the 335d was a twin.
ozz
I'm pretty sure all the e46 and e90 were turbo diesels. You didn't say which you were looking at, if you have the budget then the e90 330d is supposed to be a superb performer - quicker than the e46 330 petrol version (which i just sold) and really nice styling. I've been tempted a few times, can't make the jump to diesel though but its the way ahead. If its you buying one, spend time on bimmerforum, great bunch. Only thing that jumps out is a few people mentioned they're not great around town as the diesel filter or something gets clogged up so servicing is critical. Some stats (taken from bimmerforum): E46: 330i-------------2001-2006--------2979/6/M54-----231-------6.5-------155 330d------------1999-2002--------2926/6/M57-----184-------7.8-------155 330d------------2002-2006--------2993/6/M57N----204-------7.2-------151 E90: 330i---------------2005-present-----2996/6/R6-----258-------6.3--------155 330d--------------2005-present-----2993/6/M57----231-------6.7--------155 335i---------------2006-present-----2979/6/N52----306-------5.5--------155 335d--------------2006-present-----M57/6/2993----286-------6.1--------155 335d would be great - they are twin turbo IIRC.
