supRo
I've used Expedia - Complete bunch of tw@ts! Had couple of flights book - all became cancelled and they didn't know why! So much grief from their customer service. I'll never use them again!
IDO
Sounds weird, but this is a popular time for last mins.. I used to (sort of) work for a holiday company.. it's mainly due to students end of exams ect before the school break up and prices rise right up again! sometimes you local highstreet travel agent is good for last min ones... Pete
I know this doesn't help too much, but last minute deals don't seem to happen nowadays. I always used to do this and then found out one year that holiday companies had got wise and it was about the same price. We book in Jan to get whatever early deals there are now - still get a discount and get to look forward to where you're going too! All I can suggest is hit the telext and start ringing companies that advertise on their holiday pages. How I always used to do it. Maybe even - http://www.teletextholidays.co.uk
how_supra
It's all down to timing. Went to Lanzorote last september, booked it on the saturday and flew out on the wednesday or thursday for £200, in a 4 star appartment that slept up to six people. Real bargain. Off the internet Went into a travel agents a few years back, bagged a weeks cruise, full board around Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, all for £300. michael
We ended up getting charged a "late booking fee" which shocked me a bit, the holiday itself was as per the brochure price but I didn't care, I just needed sun Have a look at this: http://www.capitalworldtravel.co.uk
Class One
If you find somewhere, or have in mind somewhere to go check this site out. Used it last year for a last minute to Cyprus, and it was spot on!
kghelmet
my missus was looking for her and my daughter and found it was as cheap for four to go as it is for two,so her and our daughter, our friend and her daughter are going to rhodes for a week in two weeks time .half board £1100
michael
You may find it cheaper to get a last minute deal flying out from somewhere like Birmingham - the site I posted above has 100's of them from £149.
womble
this is rediculous, im getting arse holed left right and centre, ive planned to go away with the missus on the 12th. Mikey The fact that it's the 12th may be the problem. Last minute really does / can mean just that. You stand a far better chance of getting a cracking deal with 24 / 48hrs to go than with a week. Twice now I've had great deals (both from teletext too) but each time I've had to go within 48hrs.
ivan
Late deals are a thing of the past I'm afraid. A few years ago there was plenty of choice. The travel companies have wised up now though.
