Guest eddo
Hello, new guy here looking to buy a Supra. I've read the standard what to look for info and thats really usefull, however the car im interested in is an NA conversion. Are these reliable if done correctly? The car I'm interested in is on ebay, link below. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170637146495&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT Does anyone know of the car? The owner says it runs spot on etc. body work isnt mint though. What do you guys think to it? Any help greatly appreciated:) Edited May 10, 2011 by eddo (see edit history)
monsween
What's your budget? I would avoid na-t conversions as they can be iffy if not done correctly as you've mentioned. I can't see what type of gearbox it is but the na 5speed is prone to going bang at around 400bhp.
scotty71
says it sold already and yeah that on the box, wont be a six speed for 2800
Josh
Mushroom filter just in the engine bay is bad news too.
ripped_fear
on an other note that car has sold about 3-5 times now in the past 12 months so something does not add up
Guest eddo
Yeah its still on the 5 speed gearbox and the release bearing are a little noisy, I was tempted due to the cheap price really, would'nt mind having to spend a couple of grand on it if i got it for a steal. monsween
You'd be spending more than that on it i recon. Wait and get a good na or a good tt depending one what you want out of a supra
Westy
Money pit in the making...car will surely have problems.
Guest eddo
Hi again people, the cars still available as the buyer didn't get in touch, I'm still interested due to the keen price and the conversion seems sound apart from the gearbox. Only problem is I'm a long way away from the buyer so it's a gamble driving all that way if things arn't as described. So im hoping somone can do me a favour lol, is there anyone in/near Bournemouth, Dorset, willing to pop over and have a quick look at it for me? Just need to know it starts, runs and drives straight. Sorry to sound cheeky just need a little help with it being far away and me being new to the Supra. I'm sure I can sort you out with something in return Cheers guys

marc_p
I'd avoid as you'll need £3k straight off to put the 6 speed box in it as the 5 speed is hanging by a thread at those power levels.
Guest eddo
Does a 6 speed box really cost 3k? even second hand? If the box is pushed at that power I could drop the boost to make 350BHP should last then?
AlexJames
Mines for sale, 5k to members, 5.5k to anyone else
Havard
Walk away from the NA-T unless you have huge pockets and even more room inside your head..!!
skippyboyo1
yes mate they uberrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr expensive
fastcar
A new 6 speed is around 5k mark and good second hand one is around 2.5-3k. I would personally stay away from an na-t sa said on here before either wait for a good na or a good TT
