Thomas.B
I want to "convert" back to km. Is it the same thing as changing to miles? Cant find what I need to do.... thanks for any help.
David P
You can have it converted, but I would think there must be someone with a km odo with similar numbers that would be happy to swop for an odo in miles, mine's 127,000 km (87,000 miles). Homer
You'll need to 'clock' the odo if you want it to read exact. It's a bit tricky!
Thomas.B
I would be happy to just make it read in km in the miles it is really, but ideally it would be great to have it in the same km as miles. David: Do you want to swap? And to make it show the speed in km I need to remove something behind the dash? Is there any info on this? David P
To alter the indicated speed you can use a converter or change the speedo, I have a km speedo you can have if you like. How many miles does yours presently read?
Thomas.B
Think it has 91000 will check later today. I think I'll just change the speedo as it is a blitz 180mph now, just have to find a 320km/h blitz one.
David P
Changing the speedo face won't help, it is the speedo mechanism that I refer too. I have a RHD km speedo mechanism you can have if it helps?
Brazil
Sorry to highjack your thread but I would also be interested in a RHD Km speedo mechanism. 'Obviously once the OP has got one for him self.
David P
There is no physical difference between a RHD & LHD mph or kph speedo mechanism, they fit and plug in the same, yet there is a slight difference with the fit of the face mounting plate and OE faces. This can be overcome with a little pruning of the edge of the face with a pair of sharp scissors. My RHD J spec Supra has a LHD U.S. mph mechanism, a J spec RHD mounting plate with a U.S. LHD mph/km face which I preferred. Should the O.P. not want it, you can have it for the cost of posting. David P
:Edited: You're welcome to it for a swop, pm to me your address and I will send it to you. I was waiting for you to report the miles it had recorded? Edited May 8, 2011 by David P (see edit history)
