stevie_b
I've had a squealing sound coming from the engine bay for a while, which I'm fairly sure is from one of the auxiliary belt pulleys. I've changed the belt itself for a new OEM one, changed the crank pulley for a new OEM one, and changed the belt tensioner for a second hand metal-wheeled OEM one. The squealing still persists. I'm guessing it's probably the power steering pump pulley bearings, but are there any tests I could do to confirm that? I've tried listening to the pump with a breaker bar acting as a stethoscope / sounding bar: sure, it sounds rumbly, but without having anything to compare it with it's hard to know if it's excessive or not. Many thanks for any help you can give.
imi
I used to spray some WD40 on the power steering pulley and it used to solve the squeal.
