TopgunTT
People may or may not agree with their basic principles. Similar I guess to the BNP. As with all extremists, they are far too um...........extreme. Any reason for asking? I was down in Weymouth the weekend and they were doing a march, I had never heard of them hence the question. RedM
Not condoning the way the B.N.P or E.D.l go about there business, but this is a western christian country & we have our history & beliefs, so if you want us to respect yours then respect ours. Would you say that the Christians are a majority of all people or are you just referencing how it used to be?
j_jza80
I doubt there are any 'perfectly nice people' there. Even if the underlying message were not as offensive as it is, 'perfectly nice people' would baulk at hearing other people described in the most offensive terms, let alone at having to rub shoulders with people who were using their support for base level thuggery. That's a slightly intolerant view. I was talking to a customer the other day that had joined them, and he seemed perfectly nice.

penguin
classic divide and rule - too many people jump into one bandwagon or the other without looking at the perpetrators who benefit from spouting the hate in the first place... the newspapers who sell more meaningless 5h17, the forerunners who organise the marches and "sell merchandise"... and last but certainly not the least - the people working in the shadows drawing attention away from the real problem and keeping the masses ignorant. IMO - the MAC/EDL are the same cun7t5 working for the same "people" with the same objective... sadly, one group drinks beer and shouts rubbish, and the other have beards and condone violence on a massive scale - fcuk them all. What would be the problem? It wasn't Muslims that attacked the Towers, it was morons. If a psychotic Christian person blew up the BT Tower would you be offended if a Church were built next door? Calorus
Why? The nutbags who want to blow stuff up and happen to be Muslim hate most Muslims (especially in Britain) for being un-Islamic by their definitions. That's nothing to do with the ideology itself. You take any of the Abrahamic religions to the fundamentalist extremes you end up in the same place: Nazism, Zionism & Islamism: anti-gay, anti-woman, xenophobic and racist. marc_p
And here we go again:rolleyes: I do want to make some points though: 1)Extremist's cannot be classed as Muslims, they are just vile human beings(be it the asian terrorists or the EDL thugs). 2)People say the Koran is barbaric, has anyone here actually read the Koran? Or do you just base it on hearsay? Personally I have read some of the Koran, there are some parts I don't agree with, but then again, there are parts of the bible I don't agree with, it's not a hate filled book, tbh, in many ways it's very similar to the bible. 3)A bit off topic but the amount of people who get it wrong are starting to annoy me, if someone is wearing a Turban, they are Sikhs, not muslim(which on another note are probably the most caring and kind people I have ever had the chance to meet). 4)A mosque near the twin towers wouldn't bother me, at the base of them, yes as I think people would be offended, not by the normal muslims but because it would also be a bit of an f-you from the extremeists. 5)Sharia Law, doesn't and never will affect Christians unless you are in a country that abides by it. 6)Muslim women don't have to cover there face for there religion(TBH, I'm not sure why some muslim women do that, maybe she's just a bit ugly and the husband doesn't want to be seen with her:d) Just for the record, I am a Christian. I'm not hardcore, I don't go to church, but I do believe in the guy in the sky and Jesus and all of that stuff;) However, I have always wanted to have a look around inside a mosque, anyone care to offer a tour(more due to being nosey than anything else:) )
stevie_b
Good post marc_p: I agree with pretty much all of it. People should in particular note point 2. All the holy books can be interpreted in different ways. Someone has interpreted parts of the Bible to mean that the world will end at 6pm tomorrow (yes, 21st May 2011). l33wgn
my 2 pennies worth is that all religions be it muslim christian or sikh etc have basic principles. they contain a number of rules to live by and if you break them down there all pritty much the same! respect your god / gods. respect others of the same religion convert or destroy opposing religions if your good in life you go to a good place when dead ( or are reborn as a better being ) if your bad in life you go to a bad place ( or are reborn as a less significant being ) my personal opinion is that there is no god although i have been baptised etc and that religion was basically a way for the few to control the many, by using false (imo) promises. and while i dont condone any of the more recent terrorist attacks in the name of religion, lets remember where all this hate comes from eg the crusades!! I am more than happy to take you inside a mosque to have a tour, the ones in the UK aren't very amazing but still a special place, but if you ever go on Holiday to Turkey, Tunisia, Egypt, Morroco, India, Malaysia to list some then I'd recommend you take a look inside. Although mosques are a very active place for prayer, people would be more than happy to show you around. Put it this way, they are similar to Cathdrals and some are just so stunning and calm. It is amazing how many people who just follow like sheep, the sheer lack of basic intelligence is frightening. With regards to the EDL, they are in the same bracket as the extremist so called muslims.
Tyson
Threads like this always annoy me as it is full of misinformed views and uneducated crap. Christians have killed more muslims than the other way round, thousands were butchered in the crusades by Christian extremists. So who are you as Christians to complain about extremists when you are worse for it than muslims are ? It just annoys me that many innocent people die or are corrupted by twisted individuals using religion to justify there means. You'd think after all the wars started by religion that we would have learned by now. It just worries me that all the tension between the west and the far east is going to come to a big end one day. I personally am not religious in anyway or part of any extremist group.. apart from the supra owners club
mawby
It is amazing how many people who just follow like sheep, the sheer lack of basic intelligence is frightening. One could argue that that is the basic requirement for all religions; although most people choosing to believe in a religion would call it faith.
