hodge
Would someone mind checking something for me please. The pulley is etched with degrees of movement and also TDC for top dead centre. Would someone mind checking when the engine is at Top dead centre is the TDC marking sitting at "0" on the timing case or at 12 o'clock. I'm sure it sits at 12 o'clock but might be wrong. Thanks very much John

Chris Wilson
Forget all that, borrow a dial gauge that screws in the No 1 plug hole, and find true TDC, then mark the cover to correspond with TDC on the pulley. Never trust stock timing marks if setting cams or timing, always check them. The correct way to find true TDC without a dial gauge is also well documented all over the `net.
