Wiper Blade Query

Ian W

Recommended Posts

Bought a wiper blade from Halfords for the other half's Peugeot 107.

Being more than a little skint at the time, it was the cheapest wiper that was plumped for (well, £15 cheap as it's a single wiper).

That was probably a month ago and the wiper has started playing up badly today. It looks as if the pressure on the blade is actually flattening it out when drawing back across the screen, resulting in it smearing badly as opposed to clearing it.

Question is, do I have any come back at Halfords without a receipt?

Your thoughts please.

Thanks

Ian

If you haven't got a receipt then you have no chance. Is there a manufacturer warranty on it? This may be your only hope.

Couldn't tell you mate. Just bloody annoying that a wiper blade can't last more than a few weeks in this day in age :soap:

I bought a Halfords own brand spanner for £15, later found out it was the wrong size, so took it back for a refund (unused with all tags) the s£$* refused to give me refund as I had lost the receipt. Where else was I going to get a Halfords branded spanner from

I work as a customer service manager Tesco and as a branded product as long as it was returned as sold I would exchange it out of good will without quibble.

Ian as for your wiper blades I would guess the answer would be no as they state The lifetime of the wipers will depend on the condition of your windscreen and the frequency of use so without the receipt it would be difficult to prove when you bought it.

FYI Tesco sell wiper blades for around £5 each so I wouldn't buy them from Halfrauds

No, the spanner at the counter said he couldn't do anything for me without a receipt, not even an exchange! I gave up and now keep it in my boot for protection :D (it's a 32mm spanner, full shiny chrome :D).

That's exactly what I was expecting from them, but the chav at the counter didn't seem to agree with that policy :(

hahaha

If I was you Ian, I'd just got back to Halford's and tell them that you bought it a few weeks ago and it's substandard. The person on the till will most likely exhange it for you for an easy life :)

maybe wishful thinking?

Come in handy for taking of some oil filters :)
