hodge
Hi guys Can someone walk me through how I can set the static fuel pressure on a VVTI. I would normally bridge B+ and FP on the diagnostic port to fire the pump up but this VVTI doesn't have a FP terminal on the diagnostic port in the engine bay so I'm at a bit of a loss really. Can someone help out please. Thanks John
chrispot
could you not start the car and pull the vac/pressure hose off and adjust the reg? I think you can bridge out the fuel pump relay, sorry i can not tell where or what to bridge as I don't have access to my manuals at the moment
hodge
I can't start it. I've just done a big twin conversion and I want to prove out the fuel system isn't leaking before I get Ryan up to fit the syvecs. I'd imagine I can just put a live on 1 of the pins on top of the pump also but I don't know which 1 to use.
bignum
If you have a multi meter, measure for continuity between 1 of the larger wires and the car body, this is your perm negative, then apply 12volts to the other large cable and the pump should run. Or to be 100% sure pull the hanger out and follow the wires down to the pump.
hodge
I've got a spare hanger I'll check which is which and see fires the pump up.
Lee P
The loom that goes to the top of the hanger has 2 thick wires and 3 thin wires. The 3 thin ones are the sensor The larger are the pump wires, the White and black is earth the other is power. Use a power probe or a bit of wire with a fuse in it straight from a power source to run the pump.
