I would think that jobs would go initially to ex-police and ex-military.

Secondly, perhaps be careful to not part with too much money for a "course"

Research research research etc... it looks like you are btw :)

Edit: Mind you, I last looked at this in the early 90's.

I am currently doing CP work in Iraq mate.

The first question would be,whats your background?

As has already been said, most companies go for ex mil or police, with operational tours under your belt.

Just doing a Hostile CP course isnt enough.

what courses,if any have you looked at?

Ronin(south africa) and Pheonix in Hereford are the 2 main courses i believe.

For most of the uk companies,an SIA CP licence is a must, shouldnt have to much trouble with a Para background. It might be worth sending your CV to some companies, you never know.

I know that Sabre and G4S are currently recruiting.

think they would rather just be stagging on than trying to dig a shell scrape with their eyelids on the deck of a tanker, a few lads i used to work with have said that Ronin did a good course, i was looking into to transfering to the RMP to get CP qual'ed up but i still dont know

My mate said he gets rounds down the range all the time, must be a nice feeling to have RPGS fired at you when your in the middle of the sea with no were to run lol I have heard transfering in the Army now is a bastard, for stuff like RMP,REME And other trade jobs worth ago though

out of curiosity, are you sure your mate hasnt done a maritime course, instead of cp.

you wont usually get a maritime job with just a cp licence.i have tried.
