The Raven
Yeah i messed my shoulder up big time. I pulled it dead lifting a bit to much at the gym about a month ago, i stopped lifting big weights but it continued to bother me mostly in the morning. Anyway i picked my son up the other day and pop. That night i woke up in stupid amounts of pain, that was only eased by scoffing every pain killer i could find. Doc say ive torn the tendon that controls the bicep. He cant tell how bad yet as the swelling is quite bad. Im on pills for a week after which time he wants to inject a steroid into the shoulder, and do an ultrasound. Im all for the ultrasound but im not to keen on having some needle pushed into my shoulder, ive heard that for a few days after the pain is worse than the injury (which if im honest was worse than nearly anything ive ever had inc a broken foot)
MaveriK
I have had a couple in the knee and it caused me no pain at all, well except the needle going in of course.

Geo
Considering getting one in my Elbow just now as i've got tennis elbow and the sod won't go away no matter what i do. Giving it another month of treatment then i'll consider going for a Jab. From what i've been told from guys at the gym, shoulder jabs are sore at the time, but once its done the relief is fantastic. Ask the Doc about other treatments dude, before considering the the steriod jab
bignum
Aparently its ok to have 1 or 2 but after that there can be a negative affect, softening of the complete joint, which is not good, shoulder injuries are 1 of the worst to have as its the only joint on your body that can do a 360.It took around 6 month for mine to heal. However it did work for me.

KamaSupra
I fully dislocated my right shoulder on Christmas eve tearing all the tendons and muscles etc, I fell over on some ice and the pain was unreal!! I'm still off work even now as I'm unable to do my job till I've complete movement of my arm and shoulder. I had the steroids in the joint of my shoulder and it wasn't too bad an injection. When you see the syringe you think "F*ck this!!" But believe me it looks worse than it is. It's more of an ache and discomfort I found rather than being very painful when injected in my shoulder joint. It takes a few weeks for the steroids to work, but it's help me a great deal for doing my physio therapy

Abz
Tearing tendons are worse than breaks! I have torn both my ankle ligaments and everytime I moved my ankle it felt like someone hit it with a hammer! Won't even wish that sort of pain even on my worst enemy, so feel for you dude. Though if you come to the Bluewater meet I can administer this myself.

bradleyh_15
Had some in my knee when I used to be good at football! They are good, takes the pain away but don't over do it as it's masking the pain and then could make things more complex! My knee now hurts every time I play football and when I kneel down sometimes gives me a lot of discomfort!
Rob
That's exactly what I did after tearing a cruciate ligament while doing "flatland" stuff on my MTB. Had the injection, thought "Hey, its all fixed" and went out and did it again. The doctor was unimpressed.
