fastnfurious
This very nice and polished intercooler kit has arrived from Japan, pending for installation as I'm still waiting for advices from you guys (posted in this forum some days ago but sadly, still no reply) if the stock airbox will block the alu piping... anyone? Prefer to keep the stock airbox otherwise will need to figure out how to fit an aftermarket open style filter as my UK-spec is using MAF sensor. Love the Blitz SUS stainless-steel filter cone (looks and sounds really good as I had it before on my EVO6) but don't think it can fit... Samurai 20V
I think you can use the stock airbox with this system..I just fitted the spec-lm and thats what the instructions said..What does the instructions say? My car came with a cone intake so I had to keep it.. If you unsure then bolt on the pipe and do a test with the airbox in place.. The airbox with a stock or TRD filter is said to be better, open filter sucks alot of heat..
Nic
Yes it should fit with the stock airbox.

Nic
any idea who can supply this same exact kit? spotted a heat shield in this pix as well... wonder if it comes with the kit? http://www.blitz-uk.co.uk/ProductItem-179.aspx If the IC pipe doesn't fit I'd personally look at either modifying the IC pipe or the stock airbox rather than compromising on power by fitting an induction kit, especially living somewhere like Malaysia you will get the best results keeping the stock airbox. Samurai 20V
I threw my one away, didn't know it was a Blitz..lol..Replaced it with an Apexi.. Nic, I feel my car pretty flat when the temperatures are higher, is that because of the filter? The cars hauls a$$ when its cold, and Japan cold is bloody cold.. Nic
Nic, I feel my car pretty flat when the temperatures are higher, is that because of the filter? If you have a cone filter then yes as it will be sucking in the hot = less dense = less oxygenated air from the engine bay, after a run out stick your head under the bonnet and you'll feel just how hot it gets in there. The stock airbox is not restrictive, is sealed to a certain extent from the engine bay heat and has 2 cool air feeds mounted outside the engine bay, so cool air = denser air = more oxygenated = bigger bang = more power. Unfortunately my car came with a cone filter, no airbox..Will try looking for one, will also try making a cold air feed to my filter.. fastnfurious
thanks for the great advice Nic, you're the man as always! ok, will keep the stock airbox in this case and find ways to mod it to fit...
