Dnk
I know its been done to death but im just in the process of renewing my Landcruiser insurance. After getting what i thought was a bit of a steep renewal quote from my present insurer i've begun to have a shop around. I did Admiral first, on there site i filled out all the details and back came the quote of nearly £1100 This on an unmodified 2001 3.0 TDi Colorado worth approx £8000. I went on Confused.com then for some more fun and can't believe the differances in quotes from all the companies, do they actually work out insurance premiums or just pluck a number out the air. The cheapest was Asda which are actually less than what im paying now and came in at £431:) the worst quote was tesco at over £2000 My present insurerer wants £585 although they cover my supra with agreed value policy of £13k all mods declared for £285 !! Looks like i'll be giving Asda my business on the cruiser confused.dunk
Paul
I find that insurance companies favour certain types of car, my Supra is about £240 to insure yet the same company came out with a silly figure for my Mitsubishi L200. I shopped around and got the L200 down (still dearer than the Supra though), I've now got seperate policies with different companies for each of them as it saved me hundreds. I used to be with the nfu but they really messed me around so not been back since, im happy with the Asda cover at £431 but confused as to why the other ridiculous quotes and why my supra is cheaper, makes no sense to me
Kopite
I've just renewed on my 2001 Golf V6 4Motion, present insurer wanted £740 which is only £400 less than the single turbo supra. Went with Admiral who wanted £458, some quotes were £1000+, one company wanted £6kish!
