Parry_10
I have a w58 gearbox and a 6 puck competition clutch running bpu- Sometimes the car gets stuck in 1st and reverse gears and its neally impossible to get it into neutral unless you turn the engine off... Also sometimes it wont go in any gear so I use abit of force to put it in third and it seems to go in every gear fine after that like it seems to loosen everything off its hard to describe just wondering if anyone has got any ideas on what could be the cause of this thanks
fastcar
i think the clutch is not disengaging proberly. could be that the clutch needs adjusting or it could be a hydrulic problem as in a faulty master cylinda or slave cylinda. how long have you had the competition clutch? Parry_10
been in there around 2000 miles now I did try adjusting it at the pedal a bit but not sure on how much to adjust it by- most of the time its fine but now and again you just cant select the gears but if you force it into 3rd then after that it seems to let you select the gears fine again
fastcar
sound to me like its hydrulic. i know have to adjust the the clutch after about 1500 miles with the competition clutch. if you havent fitted a new slave master cylinda or master cylinda that could also be the problem. Because the clutch has a lot pressure it can blow week seals on the slave and master cylinda and let air in. try adujusting the clutch pedal first and see it that works. heckler
Change the master cylinder... when I had a competition clutch fitted, the master cylinder packed up! as soon as it was replaced, it was back to normal...
Parry_10
ok is there anyway I can tell if the slave or master cylinders are causing the problem? or am I just going to have to change them and see if it fixes it?

I belive its generally the master cylinder... saying that the slave is a bit cheaper then the master cylinder...
